GHB most drug like booze?

SWIM told me that GHB is the drug most like booze and taking it is just the same as getting drunk etc...


Is that true? is it the only drug like that?

At a certain dosage level (allowing for set and setting) it is certainly understandable why one may draw a comparison between a GHB high and being highly intoxicated through excessive alcohol consumption.

I would imagine that comparison is mostly down to the reduced co-ordination and motor functions experienced with both substances, but I stress again that, according to SWIM, the dosage, set and setting with GHB is critical to what type of high the user will experience.

SWIM reliably informs me that the user can go from a mildly euphoric and talkative phase right through to being barely able to walk straight and being incoherent or completely passing out. Most people will recognise those symptoms from the start and then the end of a big night out down the boozer.

Unlike the usual Friday night down the boozer though, SWIY will not wake up the next day feeling like he has consumed vast amounts of poison/beer/fags/kebabs and begging for the pain in his head/chest/stomach/arse to go away.

As darawk said though, whilst it is capable of making SWIY feel *similar* to being drunk, it is indeed a completely different experience altogether and one that can be complimented by additional substances, environments, people.

If booze is soap-bar then GHB is super skunk.

However, as SWIM constantly tells me to say to everybody else, never never fucking never take GHB with alcohol or when drunk. Enough fun can be had with GHB alone than the need to risk your life by mixing it with other CNS (Central Nervous System) supressors.

Oh and to finish, If sex on alcohol is Roseanne Barr then sex on GHB is Angelina Jolie, allegedly.

SWIM says alcohol is nothing like GHB. Taking many drugs can impair cognitive and motor skills, especially downers and especially in large doses. Taking many drugs will also lower your inhibitions and give you euphoria. The only real similarity is that they both come in a liquid form (though GHB is occasionally in powder form).

To avoid passing out or going over on GHB SWIY should always measure SWIY's own dose, better to dose under than to accidentally go over. Wait 2 hours between doses if SWIY got the full effects off the first dose. If SWIY didn’t get a good buzz with the first dose, still wait about an hour and a half before re-dosing, and usually a smaller amount is required for the same effects when re-dosing. Always choose a safe location and be in the company of people you trust when taking GHB. There is a fine line between “no effects” and “unconsciousness” as far as dosing is concerned, so SWIY needs to be very precise in your measuring. This drug needs respect by its user, SWIY needs to take the time to figure out what SWIY’s dose is by starting with very low doses.

Mix with anything WITHOUT alcohol! It is important or it will be dangerous.
