Many lbs of coke wash ashore.
Eighty pounds of cocaine worth about $1.5 million washed up near a state park, and officials are trying to track down its origin, said the Santa Rosa County Sheriff's Office.
Navarre Beach State Park workers found a bale of about 28 bricks of cocaine wrapped in plastic and burlap, officials said. The cocaine is 90 percent pure, and its street value could be higher if it was "cut" and resold, said sheriff's Deputy Jerry Henderson. Though the cocaine was found Saturday, sheriff's officials waited several days to announce the discovery to ensure other no other bales were nearby and prevent the public from hunting for more floating drugs, Henderson said. A smaller amount of cocaine - about 4 pounds - was found in Louisiana, said Plaquemines Parish sheriff's Maj. John Marie. Traffickers may have dumped the drugs overboard when stopped by federal authorities at sea, Marie speculated. Why can't I be the one to find a bale of cocaine floating in the water?! Damn I seriously need to move down to Florida or something.heh This also goes to prove that all coke first entering the US has been cut one time and the quality is no better than 90% pure. |

COCAINE CONTINUES WASHING ASHORE
Current Carries Bales Along Gulf Coast Nearly four pounds of cocaine, worth up to $10,000 a pound, washed up at two places on the west bank of Plaquemines Parish in recent weeks, adding to the more than 1,000 pounds that has shown up along the Gulf Coast since May, federal and state authorities said. Several south Louisiana parishes have found cocaine that has washed ashore, and 80 pounds of the narcotic was discovered over the weekend at Navarre Beach in Florida, officials of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement said. Bales of cocaine appeared to have floated with the current to various spots along the Gulf Coast, federal officials said. Other Louisiana parishes where cocaine has been found on beaches include Terrebonne, Lafourche and Grand Isle, federal officials said. In June, 296 pounds of yellow, shrink-wrapped bricks of cocaine was found about 12 miles south of Cocodrie, the largest amount ever recovered in Terrebonne Parish, officials said. A commercial fisher found the cocaine on a barrier island beach off the Terrebonne coast. Drug traffickers may have dumped the drugs overboard in the Gulf of Mexico when they feared being stopped at sea by law enforcement agencies, or a drug-running vessel may have sunk, authorities said. In Plaquemines Parish, separate two-pound packages were found July 8 and June 24, sheriff's officials said. Last week's find was made by a fisher in Bay Adams, off Empire, Maj. Charles Guey of the Plaquemines Parish Sheriff's Office said. The June 24 discovery was made by a seismic crew in Bay Long, off Port Sulphur, Guey said. The drugs were turned over to federal authorities, and no arrests have been made in Plaquemines, Guey said. There was no information on arrests made in other parishes. |

TRAWLER FINDS 65 POUNDS OF COCAINE
Empire Discovery Was Likely Dumped A trawler in the waters off Empire hauled in a major catch early Friday: about 65 pounds of cocaine, worth at least $2 million on the street, authorities said. Plaquemines Parish Sheriff Jiff Hingle said it is the largest haul of cocaine in the parish he can recall. The discovery, made in the Bastain Bay area off Empire on the west bank of Plaquemines, is believed to be part of more than 1,000 pounds of the drug that has shown up along the Gulf coast since May. Federal authorities said tests have been inconclusive on whether all the cocaine recovered is from the same shipment. Authorities have speculated that drug traffickers likely dumped a shipment in the Gulf of Mexico, fearing they would be stopped by federal authorities at sea. Bales of cocaine have floated with the current to various spots along the Gulf coast, federal officials have said. "If it was part of one shipment it's hard to tell what port they were trying to get to," Hingle said Friday. "They probably got nervous and decided to jettison the cargo." No arrests have been made. Hingle said the 65 pounds found Friday are worth about $10,000 a pound wholesale and much more on the street. It's the third time since June 24 that bundles of cocaine have washed ashore in Plaquemines Parish. Two-pound packages were found July 8 and June 24, sheriff's officials said. The latest find was bundled into 16 packages found by crewmen aboard a trawler, who alerted the Plaquemines Parish Sheriff's Office. The drugs are being turned over to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement. Several south Louisiana parishes have recovered cocaine that has washed ashore, with 80 pounds of the drug discovered over the weekend at Navarre Beach in Florida, said officials of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement. Cocaine has also been found along the coasts of Terrebonne and Lafourche parishes, and on Grand Isle, federal officials said. Early last month, 296 pounds of yellow, shrink-wrapped bricks of cocaine were found about 12 miles south of Cocodrie, the largest amount ever recovered in Terrebonne Parish, officials said. |

Re: Cocaine Bags Wash Up On Beaches
This gave me a completely ridiculous idea. However, it is fun to contemplate as most ridiculous things are.
1. Colombian drug lord 2. Acoustically absorbent packaging 3. Radio frequency transmitter 4. Boat with appropriate receiver 5. Ocean current from South America Maintain your sailboat in the general vicinity of the submerged package full of pretty white crystals while it floats its way up from south america into the waters of the US and fish it out at the appropriate moment! |

80 Pounds= 10,377 8-balls. At 20 lines an eight thats 207,542 lines At 30 mins buzz or so a pop thats 62,262,85 mins of buzz Or 4,323 non-stop days of fun. Thats nearly 12 years non-stop. OMG...........Those absolute b*******.I would kill to get my hands on those bricks. Why,why, why ![]() Although saying that I know a fella who when fishing with his friends bout 4 years ago managed to pull up a 55 gallon barrell, which was half-floating. Inside said barrell was 38 kilos of wet hash. The seal on the barrell having snapped allowing water in at the bars causing them to turn into a "sea-hash" connoction, has to be scrapped instead of burning. Him and his other friends had their smoke sorted for the year, made a few pounds out of it too. Some people have all the luck |
