Pure mdma more dangerous than X tablets?

On a websites (streetdrug.com) swim found this:
"When used alone, MDMA is dangerous. It is even more dangerous when used in combination with other substances, as the physical and psychological effects are difficult to determine or predict."
It doesnt sound right to swim, since its very very often really hard to exactly
know what theres in a tablet and therefore forecast the effects.
And isnt pure mdma supposed to be safer (as for effects as for health issues) than tablets?

The statement says that MDMA is dangerous and Ecstasy is more dangerous as it is MDMA mixed with other substances....... whether MDMA is in fact dangerous at all is up for debate.

The problem stems from the fact that most drug users who get a pill of X do not even know what MDMA stands for.

SWIM is in a small town near two major cities in North America. SWIM regularly meets people who sell pills that contain mostly Meth as X. SWIM has seen DXM+caffeine stamped into X tabs. SWIM does see real MDMA pills but the common party person usually does silly crap. Many are on anti-depressants and benzos, drink 5 shots and pop this 'X.'

Pure MDMA on itself is actually pretty safe, as long as one isn't dancing the whole night on it, and drinks enough, but not too much either.
An overdose on MDMA, even a very big one is still reasonably safe, it's the elevation of body temperature, by a lot of excerise(like dancing), and dehydration, and also possible contaminants, and even other medicine use(like SSRI's) that can make the use of MDMA dangerous.
If one uses it responsibly, than MDMA is very safe.

pure MDMA may well be relatively safe if used in a sensible way, but as long as it's prohibited, it's pretty unlikely that you will ever find "pure MDMA" .Even shiney white crystals sold as pure MDMA has no guarantee of purity.

I imagine that the site you quote is just missing this point and is really talking about pills or powder that is reffered to as MDMA.

(personal rant - it really winds me up when a scientific study will recruit people who it then terms "people who have used MDMA", when in reality these people have been ingesting a mixture of chemicals"
-essentially any retrospective study like this is just highlighting the fact that ingesting a mixture of wierd chemicals injcluding MDMA can have adverse effects. Though this never seems to be mentioned much)
