The Passion flower is a common native, roadside weed, found throughout many areas of the Southeastern United States, where it often grows in large masses in ditches and open fields.
The name passionflower, from the Latin passiflora, comes from the symbolic relationship between the anatomical and numerical arrangement of the flowers and the elements of the crucifixion, the passion of Jesus Christ. The finely cut corona in the center of the blossom resembles the crown of thorns; the petals and sepals symbolize the Apostels.
Effects
When smoked, a very mild, short-lasting marijuana-like high occurs. It acts as both a sedative and tranquilizer. In larger quantities, it acts more like a hallucinogen.
Passion flower makes an excellent tea to get rid of headaches and insomnia

Usage
There are two ways to use it, the most common and effective way is to smoke it pure or together with Damiana, skullcap and peppermint (for taste). The other method is to make tea of it; you need 15 grams a person to make a nice strong tea, boil it for 30 minutes, and then drink it
Warning
Passion Flower is an MAO- inhibitor.
