Catha edulis, or Khat, is an attractive glossy evergreen plant, a great container plant that can reache a height of 20 feet. Khat is more than a psychotropic plant. In Yemen, Ethiopia, and East Africa it is the basis of a life style and plays a dominant role in celebrations, marriages, and political meetings. Leaves are used in Ethiopia, Somalia and Yemen to make tea or chewed for their stimulant properties.
Effects strong stimulation and euphoria, it is also used as a dietary suplement because of its high fatburning caracteristics! Usage To be used as tea! One tea spoon of khat per cup! |

As you all know Khat (a.k.a Mexican Mint) contains In fresh condition Cathine en Methcathinone, but....by drying the Methcathinone looses his strenght, and a great part turns into Cathine, and as you know that's a lot less active than the Methcathinone. But you can save it. Just by freeze-drying!!! Maybe this is the answer to a simmilar effect for the banned Efedra???

It would be interesting to try this khat, i know my country, Canada, has banned the importing of this even though it is not illegal. There is also a big khat ring and extraction in Ontario and Michigan..

Dried Khat (or tea made thereof) is very nice. I haven't had the chance to get it while it's fresh. Dried khat is really pleasant and euphoric if taken in the morning or when you are tired later in the day, it's warming and can enhance both work and play wonderfully. I do not find it at all like ephedra or ephedrine, which - after a while of pleasant stimulation that is too tingly if I took too much - will make me restless, tense, anxious and, later, miserable. |
