Colorado: Alcohol Puts Infant in Hospital
A 2-month-old girl was in good condition after being hospitalized in Colorado Springs with a blood-alcohol level more than four times the legal limit for an adult driver, the police said. The infant was taken to Memorial Hospital early Sunday with a blood-alcohol level of 0.364 percent, KRDO-TV in Colorado Springs reported. The authorities were investigating how the girl ingested the alcohol.

Re: Colorado: Alcohol Puts Infant in Hospital
Is anyone else amazed the poor girl did not die? Hopefully she does not have brain damage or any other long term effects.

Re: Colorado: Alcohol Puts Infant in Hospital
Poor kid. She could have some brain damage, considering that she's only two months old and that alcohol is neurotoxic, especially in such a young and fragile developing brain. Let's hope she'll be OK.

someone had to give her that alcohol on purpose, and they should die in prison.

Re: Colorado: Alcohol Puts Infant in Hospital
It may have been an accident. I would guess that it takes a pretty small amount of alcohol to intoxicate a two month old baby, considering consumption is measured in relation to the total amount of blood in somebodies system. Either way the person should still be punished even if it was an accident just for such blatant negligence.

Re: Colorado: Alcohol Puts Infant in Hospital
It's an old custom to use small amounts of alcohol to calm down crying infants. Especially when applied to sucking cloth(I do not know the correct term in English).

Sucking cloth meaning some form of rubber nipple? Such as a binkie or various other names given. I know alcohol can be used in small children to ease the pain of teething and new tooth formation. I saw it on Family Guy.
