Question Can long term use of Ketamine lead to hair loss ?

Sorry for SWIM's bad grammar, he is french from canada.

SWIM has been using ketamine in powder for over 3 years now, but since 8 month, he has been doing it almost everyday. And he has noticed that in the last 8 months, he has lost a lot of hair, specially in the front and in the back.

Can ketamine could be the problem ?

If so, if SWIM stops using it, will the hair will grow back ?

Thanks.

Re: Can long term use of Ketamine lead to hair loss ?

SWIM has looked around but can't find anything relating ketamine to hair loss as a side effect. Ketamine has a history of legal medical use, so one would think that if it were correlated with hair loss, this would be a documented side effect. If the hair loss is more than would be expected with normal allopecia or in different places it might be best to see a doctor, since it could reflect a completely different medical condition unrelated to the ketamine usage. (SWIM is not sure what SWIY means by in the back for hair loss...like on the back of the head? or on the top of the head, but towards the back?)

*If* ketamine is having an effect on hair loss, that effect would almost definitely be mediated by a change in testosterone levels(and therefore DHT levels) in that area of your body. I've never heard of ketamine effect these levels directly, however I suppose that if your lifestyle changed dramatically due to extremely frequent ketamine abuse, that might shift your hormonal patterns somewhat. This is pretty speculative though, in all likelihood, the ketamine isn't a factor, though doing it everyday probably isn't helping much either.

Well, SWIM jnow one thing, Ketamine reduce his libido and give him a hard time to get an erection or even worste to cum, while on it.

SWIM think it might be just alopecia, but think have get worste since SWIM his doing a lot of Ketamine.

Re: Can long term use of Ketamine lead to hair loss ?

Regular ketamine use is heavy on the liver and kidneys as can be seen in regular users who describe pain while urinating. Also with 8 months of regular use your tolerance must be quite high so you are probably using larger doses. SWIM and close friends noticed after a few weekly binges on k that her skin was extremely bad looking, definitely an external indicator of internal toxicity, usual liver related.

Obviously it is a powerful anaesthetic and is going to inhibit sexual response, it boggles me that anyone would even try to get aroused on ketamine but to each his own.

It continually baffles me that the accepted authorities such as Karl Jansen so readily dismiss most of the obvious negative effects of ketamine use. Keep in mind that ketamine was originally synthesized as a less toxic alternative to PCP... one of the most toxic drugs ever. Often cited is ketamines safety record in clinical use but never mentioned is clinical use is almost always one or two doses for surgery, not repeated daily doses for any duration. There is a infinite difference.

In any case, I would not doubt that the kind of use you are describing could accelerate hair loss. You should be more concerned about the internal effects that you can't see. Just take a look at Lilly, Leary, Shulgin, etc... these substances don't make you pretty by any stretch.

Cheers,
Andrei

SWIM notice that his skin is getting a lot of rash and zit in regular heavy use of K.

Yes for SWIM, his tolerance for ketamine is very high, It cost a lot of money every day to get a high, and cannot reach K hole anymore unless SWIM stop the use of K for 1 month.

SWIM is very addict to K, and it's very hard to stop, the psychological depence is very strong, specially when SWIM is drinking.
