amphetamines and A.D.D.

Hey i have A.D.D. (attention deficit disorder) and from talking with about 15 other people diagnosed with A.D.D. or A.D.H.D. ive discovered that amphetamines affect a.d.d. and non-a.d.d. people differently. If you have a.d.d. and you take ritalin, adderal, etc. then if tends to give you a negative affect with side effects such as depression andmood swings. Also the feeling isnt at all euphoric but it makes your body feel very tense, it also puts most a.d.d. people to sleep. Whereas if you dont have a.d.d. and you take amphetamines it seems to do the opposite, makes you energetic, euphoric, andalert.


My question to you is if regular amphetamines affect a.d.d. people and non-a.d.d. people so much differently, then would methamphetamine also affect differently. I dont want to spend a bunch of money on a bag of crystal and have it make me feel like shit, also could someone explain the physical properties of why the feeling is different for a.d.d. people and non-a.d.d. people, like what happens differently in the 2 different kinds of peoples bodies and brains to produce opposite effects. Th exact physiological reason why stimulants tend to affect people with ADD/ADHD differently than "regular" folks is not completely understood. One of the most excepted theories is that neural dopanergic transmission is slowed in ADD/ADHD folks and that accounts for their restlessness and inability to stay focused. Sympathomimetic drugs enhance dopanergic activity and transmission, thereby alleviating these symtoms.



It is not uncommon for ADD/ADHD folks to experience the same high as us "regular" folks however.

I dont know any facts for you all i know is that i was perscribed 2 aderoll xr 30 mg;s a day for add. At first it gave me a euphoric feeling and made me want to learn. After continual use of it i got serverly depressed as well as violent. Maybe the different effects has something to do with habitual use of it?

ALWAYS REMEMBER* If you really do have ADD or ADHD then Ritalin will work very well for a short time,

due to the add brain set up, stimulants show strongly in the characteristics of the sufferer when using the drug due to it working on the part of the brain where difficiancy is present.


Imagine been on these levels without the stimulant and notice the gap between the two

Where the chemicles are taking affect the brain structur and even blood flow in the concerned area work and respond differently to the chemicles. Basically, peeps with ADD like my self have a slightly physically different brain,( frontal cortex ) to those whom dont

im afraid i dont really understand the post mithical but if i do get what your saying, if i take more than an average person i can achieve the same high...? basically what im asking is can i get a good feeling meth?

Nikkisixx,

Meth will most likely still effect you the same as anyone else as far as euphoria is concerned. You might actually find it more appealing than those without ADD because you will feel more in control than you do when you have a hard time focusing. So you will have the euphoria plus the added benefit of more attentiveness. I of course can not recommend using speed to control your ADD. Many drug abusers will have underlying mental health issues which predisposes them to "self medicate" with drugs. In your case, using speed to control your ADD.

NikkiSixx, I don't know anyone who gets high from 5mg of ADD
medication, and I know no one who doesn't get high from 30mg of
it. Have you tried taking a higher dosage of your pills?

Having recently been given 5, and then 10 MG regimens of adderall,I can state that the effects are marginally noticeable, as regards "getting off": but the usefullness of my activities each day is certainly enhanced, as regards attaining personal goals.

I got off the XR time release because DESPITE my thinking I was getting "good" sleep: I was becomeing cranky, irritable, and otherwise a snrly SOB...





Changed to the NON time release.. and works fine..


I would not suggest what YOU should do:


but for me? Despite instructions not the CHEW the XR,


I figgerred WTF whtz 5 MG going to do??





So i munched it: and proved to myself AND my doc that whatI needed was NOT the xr.





the depression can come from lack of sleep:

i had been buying 20 mg adderals from my friend when i asked him if he ever took more than hes prescribed. a usual dose for me is about 45 mg. He took three of the 20s and didnt act like he was on adderal at all. he was very calm

I have ADHD and I am the hyper type too and any stim... coke, coffee etc makes me well slow down... went on a "med holiday" by choice (dumped dexedrine down the toilet) and I feel now how other people say they feel when they take them... I am rx'd 90 mg per day though and besides the dexedrine(which before ppl freak over the 90 mg dose I both burn them off fast and have been on dex since I was 4 years old and I am 25 now) I also like to well use THC and for me it is a waste of pot for me to smoke it if I am on dex... the pot has no effect... also a recovering benzo fiend... will never use those again the withdrawal was HELL
