Which drug is he taking?

Hi all,

I will tell you are real story that I just learned.

I feel like Sherlock Holmes right now and absolutely need to know what drug (or drugs) are in case.

I will call my girlfriend's father Bob and her mother, the wife (well not anymore...) of Bob, Kate.

Last week, Kate found out that she had 20 000 Canadian Dollars of dept wich she never knew she had. Bob borrowed (and spent) all this money and was hiding it from her for a long time... he said it was for "groceries and stuff like that" (bullshit!)... Bob tried to suicide once by taking tens of Tylenol Extra-Strenght (500mg Ancetaminophen) tablets. He has an history of alcohol abuse and alcoholism. He has a very weird behaviour wich he tries to hide the best he can but sometimes gets caught doing very immoral things (wich I wont state here). Kate think he started abusing alcohol again but she's not sure since there's no trace of beer and alcoholic bottles and he has no alcohol breath smell. He hides something in his truck wich he's the only one to have the keys and frequently go in and out of it. He is very nervous and emotionally unstable and suffer oocasional insomnia. His best friend sells Cocaine...

I just heard that story and since I have a huge drugs/psychoactives knowledge and experience it's almost sure he's addicted to a drug. The question is : what drug? I was thinking between : Cocaine, Methamphetamine, Heroin, Dilaudid (Hydromorphone), Oxycodone or Hydrocodone. The 20 000 dollars is probably spent into drugs and immediatly I thought of Cocaine (best friend is seller, huge amount of money). But he doesn't seem to have a stuffed nose and does not look like he has snorted something. Methamphetamine pills taken orally would pretty much suit then. But sometimes he seems so relaxed and just enjoys TV with a smile on his face looking kind of drunk wich definatly makes me think of an Opiate. Probably one of those listed above. My final hypothesis is, he had been abusing all of them depeding the situation.

What do you all think of my hypothesis? Any other hypothesis? Is there a way we could find out?

Change this for : I just heard that story, and since I have a great drugs/psychoactives knowledge and experience, I am pretty sure he's addicted to a/some drug(s).

Re: Which drug is he taking?

Could be more than one drug. SWIM doesnt have much input but to say that opiates kill the sex drive, and one wouldnt want to do anything sexual while on it. Methamphetamine seems to increase the sex drive for some. But the TV watching sounds more like opiates. It could be a combination of both, some folks use opiates to help with the crash from stimulants. More investigation may be needed to find out for sure, or rather it sounds like legal counsel for Kate might be the best thing to do at the moment.

Re: Which drug is he taking?

Definitely sounds like a combination of things. There are a number of substances that could be involved from the sounds of it without more knowledge. Its hard to choose from one.

As to the cocaine friend, its possible he is using it orally or through IV if he isn't snorting. Can't come to any conclusions though.

I'd go with FTSL on this one.

BajEdit: A possible way to find out with less uncertainty is to see if Bob would accept taking a drug test, but who knows what his reaction would be to such a request.

Forget about it.

I already thought about IV use but I was guessing it would give him such a strong buzz that it would be very easy to see he's high on something.

Something contradictory with stimulant use (Meth or Coke) is that he does not seem irritable, angry and he has no "tics" or mania... Althought sometimes he looks paranoid...

The story is so confusing althought he has the typical addicted personality... but addicted to what?
