Re: what is Sativah ?? any thoughts
Ingredients are listed as Lettuce Opium, Mad Dog Weed, Egyptian Mugwort, Passion Flower, Salvia Divinorum, Hops, Strobiles, Chamomile, Damiana, Raspberry and Spearmint.
Basically a bunch of mild sedatives with Salvia thrown in, but swiy would be lucky to experience Salvia,s true effects at that concentration. Raspberry and Spearmint are often used to add body and flavour to herbal blends. Sounds like a reasonable herbal smoking blend, perhaps to use instead of tobacco in a joint or to relax with. But Swiy shouldn,t expect to much of a high. Last edited by Shampoo; 25-09-2009 at 03:24. |

Re: what is Sativah ?? any thoughts
Swim has used similar smoking blends before such as "Buddha's Blend" and found them to be not really worth the money or effort to smoke alone.
Using the blend to spliff cannabis joints instead of tobacco could be worthwhile, as it tends to give the high a more calming and sedative effect. |

SWIM has seen a lot of advertisement for "herbal smokes" around the internet..but these places don't really describe what is included in the blend. What, in general, are the ingredients..and are they INTENDED to cause highs, or are they just alternatives for tobacco?

Re: Spice Smoking Blend
SWIM ordered recently 2Spicy, (supposedly) one smartshop's Spice analogue. It seems to have somewhat different contents, although I'm not familiar with all of those scientific names: Leonorus sibiricus, Canavalia baybean, Nymphaea caerulea & Alba, Nelumbo nucifera, Leonotis leonorus and Mitragyna speciosa. Do you have experience with this blend? What do you think about the efficiency of 2Spicy?

Re: Spice Smoking Blend
The canavalia is likely the most effective. Leonotis is a nicotine-like alkaloid and SWIM has found Leonurus sibiricus inactive for SWIM and harsh to smoke. Kratom is only active when smoked as a concentrated extract and only modestly so, and the water lillies are also at best modestly active - the only way SWIM has gotten an effect is and extract in alcohol or flowers steeped in alcohol (lots of them).

Re: Spice Smoking Blend
Swim found 2Spicy to be very mild in comparison to Spice. It tastes and smells very nice, far better than Spice but lacks much kick. A good relaxing herbal blend with very mild high.

The blend I'm talking about contains: Taken from site- "A unique blend of extracts and isolates from Mitragyna ciliata, Una de Gato & Areca nut" Btw I have actually enjoyed this smoke. It produces a mild yet flavorful smoke and provided an overall nice mellow/sedated effect. .peace. Last edited by Br00klynB0y87; 16-10-2007 at 19:20. |

Re: Smoking blend comparision.
Chill . . . ha ha, cough cough, the fake bud manufacturers attempt to jump on the Spice bandwagon?
So far, Swim thinks Spice has the best kick of any legal smoke. 2Spicy is the nicest tasting / best mixer, closest to the real thing minus the kick. Mixed together these two make a great smoke. |

Re: Smoking blend comparision.
From one of the above posts 2spicy has kratom in it, was wondering when that would happen. Pretty good idea in terms of adding an actual effect that is pleasant, swim has thrown some premium kratom powder in a joint and loved the mixture of effects.

Re: Smoking blend comparision.
From experiences posted across the net I gather that 2Spicy doesn't do much in terms of effect. The only plus is what thirdedge notes: it tastes & smokes nice.

Island Smog
Anyone heard of this? The package reads:
Island Smog Premium herb blend Relaxation - Happiness The world's only effective "alternative" extreme 5x high Ingredients: proprietary herbal blend of 100% herbal isolates and extracted herbs including Rosa centifolia, Horminum Pyrenaicum, Ruta graveolens (root bark), Styrax benzion (tree resin) & Turnera aphrodisiaca. The back of the package includes instructions on how to use (roll it, or in a pipe, with 1/2 to 3/4 gram per person. The pack is only 1 gram). However the inside of the cardboard thing says "For incense use only" lol. And, it says to read up at sagewisdom before using, for safe use instruction. Things is, sage wisdom is all about salvia. That's not listed in the ingredients. After looking up all the ingredients on wikipedia, Damiana (Turnera aphrodisiaca) appears to be the only one that MAY be active. Has SWIY tried this? Know something about the activity of the ingredients that I couldn't find? SWIM came across some and will try it eventually and share his thoughts, just wondering if there are other's experiences to be shared. |

Re: Island Smog
Quote:
Horminum Pyrenaicum = Clary Sage, a psychoactive member of the mint family, reputed to invoke euphoria, but possibly also a headache. Ruta graveolens = Used to induce abortion and decrease sexual activity, can be dangerous, has caused death, I can,t see any use for this other than a decoy ingredient. Styrax benzion = Sweet, balsamic, vanilla-like scent. Not sure of psychoactivity. Turnera aphrodisiaca = Damiana, very very mildly psychoactive when smoked, probably used as the carrier herb, a good herbal tobacco alternative. |

Re: Island Smog
Thanks Thirdedge. By decoy, do you mean filler, or you doubt it's actually in the blend at all? Sounds rather nasty.

Someone really needs to try the blend and report back if its active or not. We can then speculate what may be responsible for the effects, if there are any. I have my doubts . . . |

Re: Smoking blend comparision.
Swim has yet to try a herbal blend worth the price, in his opinion it pays to do some research and learn about the herbs individually and later if you want you can always make you own blend.
The blends swim have had experience with are- Druid Smoke & Ancient Smoke __________________________________________________ ____________________ "I believe in a long, prolonged, derangement of the senses in order to obtain the unknown." -- Jim Morrison |
