Smoking stems?

Ok. Now, this may seem kind of silly, or even gross, but has anyone ever tried smoking stems? I'm sure it would not taste good, but just wondering if anyone here has tried it. Is the THC content the same as in the actual buds? This would probably be something one would try only if they were out of the "good" stuff.

There is little or no THC in the stems. SWIM wouldn't recommend smoking them. Chances are it wouldn't get one high, would taste quite badly and would be a regrettable waste of time.

Well considering Thc is decently soluble in alcohol, swiy may think about placing all of ones stems into a solution of one's favorite hard alcohol and leaving it for a couple days while giving the mix an occasional shake. After alloted time has passed, the stems would be removed and thc will be present in the alcohol (altho thc content as stated already is quite low.. so don't expect much). It should be noted that the same method holds true for the actual buds which contain a helluva lot more thc. Or swiy can do what the majority does... stems = garbage

If you want, just add some stems to your Pot.

This will give you the (meager) benefits, but without the headache.

Pankreeas has the BEST solution: Soak-out the THC.
At this point, you can either:
1) Drink the Booze; or
2) Evaporate the Booze, and be left with some Hash Oil.

When swim used to grow he found out that stems have almost no thc at all. But if you are a completly froogle person and demand that you use every part then you can take the stems put them in a cheese clothe and put that in hot water to make tea that will get you buzzed. I found that tip in the Anarchist's cookbook.

Stems contain little to no thc, not worth smoking. If you have a bunch of stems (saved up from many ounces) it may be worth making butter with, but not really worth it then even.

Don't put weed into boiling water as THC needs fat (as in milk, butter, oil etc.) for your body to metabolise it if you eat it.
if SWIY smokes good weed then there should be plenty of THC chrystals all over the stalks. Put SWIY stems into a grinder (make sure it's a strong grinder) and grind away for as long as SWIY can be arsed. Carefully remove gound up stalks and there'll be a little kif in the bottom. As SWIM says this'll only work with good weed with trychomes all over the stalks.
Smoking the actual stems tastes like shit but will do if SWIY is really desperate.
If you have loads of stems save them up and put them in a pot of milk and heat for over half an hour as hot as possible without boiling. Strain out stems and drink. SWHIM thinks that's called a Jamaican tea.

Ok I think we can all agree that for the most part, it's just not worth smoking stems unless A./ really hurting or b./ If one has a lot of stems, and doesn't use any extraction more complicated than throwin em in some alkeehol and siftin later, cause thats all stems are worth.
