flu like symptoms

I am a new user to Ecstacy.
just recently i did two tabs of White Mercedes.
I took the pills on saturday night and my throat has been sore and my glands have been swollen since. My friend has had the same thing happend.
Is this a bad reaction to it? or is it normal?

Re: flu like symptoms

No this is not normal. Although it is hard to say what is wrong, please read up on mCPP (Piperazine) and see if you can find the possibility to test such a tablet. I wouldn't be surprised if a piperazine would be the active ingredient.
Have you heard of more incidents like this in Canada?

Re: flu like symptoms

It's called a cold. Wrap up warm, plenty of fluids, don't worry. Some people do get a bit wiped out after rolling, staying up all night can do this to a creature, especially if the night was spent in a sweaty environment before going out into a cold one (I'm guessing Canada aint that warm right now...). Even if the night wasn't spent clubbing, people have reported feeling run down after, & have been a little more susceptible to colds & related bugs.

It probably has more to do with the fact that it is winter in the Northern Hemisphere than with the pills. If the symptoms persist or change drastically then seek medical advice.

Oh, & by the way, before posting again please read The rules of drugs-forum

Run a search on self-incrimination & SWIM too please. Self-incrimination is not allowed. Neither is double posting...

Re: flu like symptoms

SWIM has a theory that E temporarily shuts off the immune system. he has noticed whatever cold/flu symptoms he has temporarily go away while he is up, then they come back with a vengeance the next day. i think that because his immune system is shut off he doesnt feel the symptoms but during that time it is easier to catch a virus or for any infection he already has to get worse.
this is just SWIM's theory he's no doctor.

Re: flu like symptoms

SWIM has had somewhat of a similar experience. He went to Miami for a music festival and took three pills while he was there. Then he had to fly back up to Michigan. The E definitely weakened his immune system as after he flew back up to Michigan he almost immediately came down with a nasty cold. And as we all know, airplanes aren't exactly the most safe place to be when you know your immune system is weak.

Re: flu like symptoms

swim also sometimes tends to get swollen glands and a sore throat after xtc he just put it down to his body thinking its ill
a good nights sleep and a hearty meal helps
also you could try pre and post loading with 5htp this stuff is proper
also swim always feels it is healing to eat fruit at these times

It is my understanding that post-loading 5-HTP will only help get serotonin levels in the brain back to baseline (or restart your roll in rare cases; its happened to me). I really don't think that it would effect your immune system.

I suggested this to help him not feel so run down and and because some of his symptoms could be psycosematic and to do with the depression of a come down
also whether it works or not its maybe a good idea

Re: flu like symptoms

True, good point. It definitely dampens the comedown, there is no arguing with that. If his illness is all in his head then it would definitely help without a doubt, but if its an issue of an actual infection some cough drops would go a lot further than 5-htp.
