HELP! SWIM does *not* understand DXM dosage.

SWIM is interested in doing a little DXM. however, SWIM does not understand the mg/kg dosage..she needs to make SURE she understands this before even touching the stuff..so could someone kindly explain to SWIM what this all means?

SWIM understands that you divide the amount taken by body weight in kg. so if SWIM weighs 62 kg and takes 115 mg...115/62=1.9 (approx) mg? so SWIM would take 1.9 mg? what???? see, SWIM is confused as to what the result of that equation actually means.

ALSO..the box of Robi. says .."Active Ingredient (in each 5 mL tsp) .. Dextromethorphan HBr, USP 15 mg"

does that mean that there are 15 mg of DXM in 5 mL, and does 5 mL = one teaspoon?


yikes, sorry this all makes SWIM seem like an uneducated idiot, and she admits that her skills in math, science, and anything else technical are lacking. she just needs to make absolute 100% sure she knows her dosage. thanx!

Well weigh yourself, and go to http://www.digitaldutch.com/unitconverter/ to convert it into kg from american. then if you weight 70kilos, 70mg is 1mg/kg, 140mg is 2mg/kg, simple.

Alternatively, you could chuck that out the window and go with doses like "450mg = 2nd plateau" and "750mg = 3rd plateau", and they'll be roughly right.

And yes, 15mg per 5ml means that there is 15mg of dex in one teaspoon, and if you have 500ml, then you have 1500mg of dex.

Most anyone can get in the UK is 7.5mg per 5ml, lucky bastards.

Thanx for your response..even though SWIM still doesn't quite understand how the mg/kg is useful in any way :P So..if SWIM were to take 10 tsp of DXM, she should expect to be in the 1st plateau? that seems like a relatively small amount of the syrup to ingest..

Yes, it would give SWIY 150 mg dxm, enough for a first plateau trip. and mg/kg is more useful for drugs which manifest their effects on a continually escalating dose/response scale. For drugs like DXM which exhibit their effects in plateaus, the mg/kg is not quite as useful since one can assume that they can hit 1st plateau at 100-150 mg, 2nd plateau at 300 mg, forget what it takes to get to third base though.

Usenet recommends 9.4mg/kg for 3rd plateau doses, which if applied to SWIM's weight (68kg) is around 640mg.

You propably dont want to go for a 3rd plateau for your first time. Go for a 1st-2nd plateau dose. Itll give you a good experience worthy of the time but it will let you get a good feeling for dissociatives before diving into the deep end, you know what i mean?

And the capsules are much easier in SWIMS opinion. Read up some more on all of the effects, both enjoyable and not, and prepare for your first trip well, and go for it. SWIM finds it to be a fun drug for a samll group to do together and have a blast. Good luck!

My test subject recommends skipping the syrups and capsules; he's found it much less unpleasant to boil Sucrets DM in distilled water until the white powder falls to the bottom. The powder is what he wants. One can ditch the thick, sugary fluid (coffee filters help).

It's a little more work, but well worth it in his opinion. Just make sure to get the right cough drops; they should have dextromethorphan HBr and nothing else (well, except menthol and other crap that either boils away or is poured off).

If the weight dosing for dxm is slightly confusing try starting with the a bottle of robo max which is about 330ish (swim thinks he remembers).... that is a good show of what dxm is and if swiy likes or not.... again if one takes less they get a different sorta speedy xtc like high, while more will leave one in a more dissociative state. But the safest option for first trip is low because one might be more or less sensative to dxm, there is also the slight chance that swiy could be imune to dxm like the rare but acknowledged few mentioned in the faq. As for methods of taking, for first time swim says drink a robo max or try 300mg of dxm gels or sucrets but NO CCC or any dxm drug that contains ANY other active ingrediant other than DXM HBR and for a first timer that mean DXM POLY is out too.
