Precursor list?
SWIM has recently been entertaining the idea of buying some 2,5 dimethoxybenzaldehyde. He is aware that this chemical is used in the synthesis on many phenethylamines. Although swims purposes are totally legal (he is working on a new insecticide) he is worried about DEA agents knocking on is door. His question is this. Does swiy have the watch list that the DEA use's? If so is 2,5 dimethoxybenzaldehyde listed? Also if swiy does have it please post the full list. Swim can probably think of other uses for it.

Re: Precursor list?
You better believe it is! It has been listed as a watched chem. since DOM was scheduled, along with 2,5-DMA. Read: Since 1970. Unless SWIM is a large, established company or university, ordering this will bring a squad over. At least in the USA and Canada.

Re: Precursor list?
Is there a list of all watched chemicals published anywhere? Insecticide SWIM has a friend that is preparing for the schedualing of phenethylamines and needs to prepare. He is prepared to do a nearly from scratch synth as long as it doesn't bring the long arm of the law down on him. Basicly how far down does swims friend need to go before he is below the radar?

Re: Precursor list?
I wonder what would realistically happen if you just sort of "invested" in these substances. By that I mean purchased a large quantity of watched chemicals, and just kept them for a few years without doing anything at all with them. If the DEA shows up, just tell them it's none of their business. They might hassle you for a while, watch you night and day, raid your trash, etc...but as long as you're more or less clean, is there anything they can really do? Eventually they'll get bored and go away i'd think.
If they really press you for an answer, tell them you just did it to fuck with them. Similar to the way a few worms have been distributed that spam echelon keywords. You just ordered this stuff because you are against the war on drugs, and want to make it as difficult as possible for them. That isn't a crime, AFAIK. No doubt they'll hassle the fuck out of you for quite a while if you say that, but at some point or another they've gotta give up if they've got nothing. Which brings me to another point. Suppose SWIM obtained a substance that smelled to drug dogs exactly like a common illegal drug, and began sprinkling it all over the outside of packages. Would this be illegal? It would confuse the dogs, and on a large scale(e.g. if all of the SWIMs here did this as a 'forum project' of sorts =p), render package searching infeasible. I don't think this is a crime, and again, it has the potential to bring a lot of heat down on you - but it isn't enough for them to really do much to you, AFAIK at least. |

Its vindictive, spiteful , and a waist of the DEA's time.... I love it. And a forum project to boot. I'll begin mailing package's filled with dog bones immediately! Do your part forumer's. Last edited by wellhelm; 22-11-2006 at 11:48. Reason: disgusting grammar |

Re: Precursor list?
That's a fantastic idea darawk. As long as SWIM doesn't have anything worth busting for in his house (unfortunatly he doesn't
). He should be in the clear. Another step to this might be to move the chemical to another location. If this was done the dea would have to watch both places and conconct false charges for both. Also, if swim was to first contact the paper, news, or other media about his intentions and then recorded it. Quite a stir could be caused. Anyway this is all SWIMS fantasy, in reality he is to broke atm to attempt anything this complex.PS. Swim ate some dxm before posting this, so please bear with errors. Thank you |

Re: Precursor list?
They would likely arrest you for conspiracy and RICO violations - leaving you to prove you are not a drug-dealer under Federal Forfeiture statues.
You better talk to some top-gun attornies before you do any such stunts. |

Re: Precursor list?
That is probably true of the precursor issue, but in regards to the package idea, even if they did do that, it would be easy in a lab test to prove that the substances you had sprinkled on the packages were in fact not illegal.

Re: Precursor list?
To bring this back on topic. Does anyone know whether 1,3-benzodioxole is a watched chemical? Again it would be really nice if someone had a link to the watch list the dea uses.
