Dose - Psilocybe Semilanceata (Liberty Cap) Dosage

SWIM would like to know how many grams (he's Italian and don't understand a fuck about oz, inches, miles, ecc p) of shrooms (Liberty Caps he'd have to eat for reach level three or for.

I assume you are talking about liberty caps, correct? Even so, how big were they, and what was the approximate weight of 400 of them? How many lab rats ingested the coffee? How strong was the trip during this "enjoyable evening"?

The normal dose for properly dried liberty caps is 1.2 grams. 2-3 grams would be a very strong dose, only for hard core psychonauts like NB.

Sorry that swim didn't warn people that taking excesive amounts could be dangerous especially for someone new, swim should have said that there were themselves and a few other lab rats at the time, ad that they where freshly picked and used straight away.

Pends on ther strain, Alfa is right about Liberty Caps, but if it's S. Cubensis, 5 dried grams.

Five grams could get you a nasty experience even if you are a veteran tripper, and for a first-timer depending on the situation it could be way too much to handle.




But it doesn't matter anyways, as the guy said he had liberty caps. Just make sure someone doesn't go out and eat 5 grams of liberty caps though!

5 Grams properly dried cubensis is a hell of a ride. Not for the faint at heart or the unexperienced. 2.5 - 3 grams psilocybe cubensis is a normal dose.
Off course with all psilocybe mushrooms, potency is dependant upon how old the mushrooms are and at what temp they have been dried. Any temp above 30 degress celcius will result in lower potency. Storage is another factor.(cool, dark and airtight)

People tend to eat way too many Liberty Caps in general. They are picked in fields where they grow in large amounts and due to their small size, people underestimate them and take way more than they need. If, by Alfa's recommendations, a dry dose is 1.2g, a comparable fresh dose would hover around the 12g mark. From what SWIM has observed and heard about, a lot of lab rats out there gobble back twice the full dose, sometimes more!

SWIM would suggest that 2.2g of dry L.Caps puts him in the same ballpark as 3.5g of P.Cubensis.

Though this is a fairly serious trip without quite forgetting who you are or which way is up.

The quality of the shrooms comes into it of course, the variables being initial potency, drying conditions, storage conditions, method of preparation/ingestion.

The shroomery has a dosage calculator which can give you a fair idea, though never take anything you read as gospel (especialy the gospel).

At the end of the day an individual's susceptability can come into it too, so start out conservatively.

Out in Seattle, people have accidently picked P. Baocystes along with the P. Semilanceata. The result was needing a trip to the hospital from an psilocybin (!) overdose.
