Japan - Massive Drug Ban In Japan!

Hey folks, friends and those I consider family here, Swim has gotten some very very bad news.Now there is news that is bad, then there is news that is really really bad, then there is news that makes you spill your beer all over your shirt and scream Holy F**cking Shit! Well this is that kind of news.

Im sorry I dont have any links so for now, you folks will have to trust swim and what he saw on the news last night and from the conversations he has had with his Japanese friends in the underworld here. Swim is sure he will be able to eventually find a link but right now he just wants to get the news out there.　

So this was reported on the NHK national news tonight at about 7pm Tokyo time, it was then confirmed by numerous phone calls a frantic swim made. Here it is:

There is Legislation being passed through the Japanese Diet (their congress) which will be some of the harshest and most draconian drug laws regarding ethnobotanicals and RCs. Included in this ban are the following substances: Salvia, 2CE, 2CI, Methylone, Khat, 5-meo-DMT, 2CC, 2CT4, GBL, Mushroom Spores, Mushroom Grow Kits, and many many more which currently Swim doesnt have the full list but the ones mentioned above are DEFINITELY on the list. The full list is supposed to be released sometime next week when it gets out of the committee it is currently in (studying the economic impact and possible legit uses of the substances considered in the ban). In all there will be 33 substances banned from importation, manufacture and sale.

At the earliest this ban would be retroactive on March 1st if it rushed through. At the latest maybe May or June. This is INSANE! Swim is baffled and very angry. Some of these substances have been banned in the Tokyo Metropolitan area for some time (Like 2CI and Methylone) but with a post box outside of the metro area (say one prefecture over as swim has) someone could order these products and be OK. Not anymore, this will cover the whole of Japan. There will be a ton of head shops and street vendor that will go out of business from this ban (some of which are very good friends of Swim) and all this will do is drive the trade underground and back into the criminal element (which I suspect is the real driver behind this ban, the criminal gangs are losing too much money as these legal drugs are better and cheaper than the illegal ones).

Swim will update this thread with any important info that he finds. If any of the news hounds want to search for more info (which swim will be doing) google "The Japan Times" or "The Daily Yomiuri" which are the two biggest newspapers in Japan.

Swim is going to search and drink his beer which now has some tears in it.
