Hi Everyone,

I have done quite alot of research through the searches but I am quite meticulous an would like to hear it personally from someone. Being from Canada I wasn't quite sure if our crack was the same as yours, I think it has much more meth in it. That being the case, I have a urine a week from tomorrow, and on that day it will have been 12 days since I used crack (which probably has meth in it). I have been drinking butt loads of water and eating really well. Do you think I should reschedule the appointment another week or do you think I have a fairly good chance of passing?

I am not sure about the amount of meth in crack in different areas, but SWIY should be fine for their drug test. Meth can be detected in urine within 3-6 days of use, crack within 2-3 days. I would not bother rescheduling.

The period of time in which you can test positive for methamphetamine is shorter than that of cocaine (24 hours vs. 2-4 days). If SWIY hasn't used in 12 days SWIY should pass with no problems.

K sorry about that, SWIM knows whats up.

Something has SWIM worried though. SWIM just read that amoxicillin can shoe a false postive for cocaine on a drug test. Being that SWIM has been sick and is on this particular antibiotic, SWIM is worried that this may affect him in some way. would anyone care to give advice on whether or not SWIM should notify his employer before hand or just wait intil the test results have come in to inform him of the amoxicillin's tendency to produce false positives. Which way is least suspect? cause it very well may not even affect SWIM'S urine.

when you go in for a piss test they usually ask if you are currenting taking any medications, just tell them then.

The tests should be carried out by professionals and as such they should be aware of any other drugs/chemicals that could create false positives. At some point before the test either the employer or the company carrying out the test should ask you if your taking any medication. At this point if you tell them they should be aware of any possibility of a false positive. How they go from there if the test proved positive I don't know. But you should be fine. Good luck anyhow.

One more thing you could do is take a home test. They are accurate enough for you to know if you need to postpone your test. Also, if the test that is being done is an EMIT, they have been known to show false positives for cocaine when someone has been taking amoxicillian. In most cases, labs will then do a GC/MS test to confirm/negate the EMIT positive. If it's positive because of amoxicillian, this test can tell the difference, so swiy would be in the clear if that's the only reason the EMIT would show positive.

As KomodoMK pointed out, length of time of use and how much will have an effect on how long it will show up in a UA. A heavy user can take as long 8-10 days to test negative.

They will ask before administering the test to list any medications SWIY is taking. Tell them about the antibiotic then. After that, SHUT UP. Don't say a thing.

IMHO, there comes a point where SWIY would look just look guilty as hell by bringing up issues of false positives. Only someone who'd done their homework would know know and only someone who had something to hide would care enough to know any of that. SWIY can provide a few dots, but let the lab connect them. Someone who is truly innocent simply wouldn't even think of it.

Just a thought..... SWIM works in an industry (IT) where contractors are the norm and EVERYONE gets tested.

if swim drinks 14 8 oz glasses of water a day for the next 6 then will swim be a alright cause its water soluble....i mean cocaine and alll, meth fuck,.
