You're missing my point and no, I've never been there. Have you seen saving private ryan? Didn't you think it was gorgeous, the way they all put their lives at risk and that sense of brotherhood and all that shit they meant you to feel? Do you think wading through lots of shit and getting shot at a lot for long periods of time would be romantic?

Me neither, but I'm not in the american army, and it's not 1944, so i'm allowed to think it's romantic, i think it is romantic.

I think syd barrett is romantic and bohemiam, and he is. I'm sure being a total headcase and doing so much acid you think you're a slice of toast is pretty fucking horrible, and i'm sure seeing it happen to your friend is horrible. But Wish you were here is fucking romantic.

I don't think shooting up because you can't bear the though of more withdrawals and whoring yourself for a hit is romantic. I think the image of the junkie is romantic because of the drama and the beautiful image of humanity that comes out of the extreme things that i'm sure, close up, are pretty awful.

I agree with Nicaine, this isnt at all glamorous, although I recognize that some of these girls despite their hideous and impossibly placed track marks were somewhat attractive, ladies #1, 4 and especially 8. Dont get me wrong tho, the sadness and misery of the whole thing blocks out any arousal my sick mind could have.
Anyways, what do you people think? Are these pictures fake? Did these girls whored their body image to get their next fix? More comments more comments....

There is nothing sexy about IV drug use, particularly narcotics.
However, one cannot help but appreciate the juxtaposition of the penetration of a needle into a vein and the implication of sex. Very accurate portrayal of how the needle substitutes for sex, and everything else. Intimacy in these photos is with the needle - there are no other subjects in the photos, epitomizing IV heroin addiction. Nothing worse than the draw of the needle or the glass dick.

Hard to say, but it looks to these eyes like a pretty realistic portrayal of death (color, etc). If faked, it's well done. Disturbing. All the pictures are, really, Alfa's right.

OMFG!!! Swim is really disturbed! I.V. opiate abuse is no joke!!! It's great for someone in a serious trauma, but used in a day to day rec. setting is a greased pole into hell. Swim could only briefly glance at the pics, and got nauseous at the very sight of them. The problem is, once one has tasted steak, why go back to bologna? Don't try this at home, swimmers! There is nothing sexual about having a needle fixation or being an iv substance addict. Swia has seen similar photos before and this is exactly the thing that makes her sic with it.

people may see this sort of thing and be inspired to try. Swia uses iv every-now and again has been addicted its not pretty and the result can sometimes be destroying to the loved ones family and the addict in question.

Anyways I'm with most all of you on this. This is not sexy at all or romantic. It does serve a purpose here though. Maybe it can persuade some to think twice before heading toward the needle. It is an awefull reminder of what junkies do look like. I think that all people who want to even think about picking up the needle should be directed here. Glad swim put his needle down awhile back before he got to that point.

And before anyone starts bitching about how I said everyone who uses a needle will end up like this, it is not always the case. Some needle users are actually responsible and do not turn into a "junkie"....some. I tell you what though, I've never met one in real life...

SWIM thinks that one must be faked, but there's something horribly moving about the whole scene... the rusted out long-gone car, the long-gone/dead junkie together. Not to glamorize it, just saying that it can arouse emotions. It's really deeply disturbing (and in fact makes SWIM want to quit all drugs forever).

would not say quit all drugs together thou , like with anything moderation is key Swia has been and used as she is a where of how it can effect her if she carries on for more then three days rather then fall into the same pattern of use.

ever seen the needles marks on a iv coke user? Moderation is more needed for any iv user in the opiate department. cocaine iv should really be avoided thou swia had a lot more temptation to re-do that again straight after then anything else.
