SWIM has a problem

SWIM has been smoking for very many years now, but has recently developed a problem which is inhibiting his enjoyment of this hobby.

SWIM has stopped smoking regularly for various reasons. For the past 4 or 5 years, he smokes only occasionally - a few times a year. This is due to various changing circumstances in his life and is a regrettably necessary change. SWIM gets greedy at these times when he does have the opportunity and overindulges, becomes anxious about enjoying himself, and before he knows it, he has gone and smoked all his smoke and he hasn't enjoyed himself due to excessive worrying about enjoying himself. SWIM is having trouble relaxing at these times; he gets overexcited by the rarity of the occasion.

Are there any hobbyists with similar experiences as life progresses and what have they done?
