Eating for stimulant users...

SWIM has been stepping up his diet in light of increased stimulant use... he's been drinking around 3 protein shakes per day (25g protein including milk, + lots of nutrients), and if using stims it's followed by some sweetened soda pop or a cup of tea with ten tsp of sugar added... Woo!

He's got some better protein powder on order, with the following specs (pre-milk... milk will add 8 more grams of protein and quite a bit of fat):

Calories 560
Calories From Fat 30
Total Fat 3g 5%
Saturated Fat 2g 10%
Cholesterol 35mg 12%
Sodium 360mg 15%
Potassium 1210mg 35%
Total Carbohydrate 113g 38%
Dietary Fiber 3g 12%
Sugars 67g
Protein 21g 42%

Calorie count is very nice, SWIM weighs around 135 and definitely needs to put on a few .

What's SWIY eating these days?

Re: Eating for stimulant users...

That's fabulous swiy, good on him! If only putting on a few pounds were what swim needed to do... lol
Well her main concern is keeping her teeth from eroding and skin from aging faster and wrinkling, so she's making sure to include protein smoothies as well. As long as i have plenty anti-oxidant and calcium rich things, that's what swim's looking for. Whole Foods has an organic strawberry protein smoothie powder with plenty of good things like spirulina and all the essential vitamins, and she mixes in some fat-free milk. (swim's a vegetarian too.) And plenty of green tea with splenda, fruit, pomegranates, and low-cal but hearty lentil soup. Gotta keep healthy for somethin so unhealthy, lol.

Re: Eating for stimulant users...

SWIA is very fat; so he's been having trouble figuring out the happy medium where he still loses weight that falls in between eating nothing at all and eating just enough to be healthy. What he usually does is force himself to eat at least one full, healthy meal a day, snacks and such if he thinks of it, and that's been working ok for him so far.

Re: Eating for stimulant users...

swim cant recomend a lifestyle where the majority time one is in a state of amphetamine fast of sorts so swim recomends eating healthy before and after a binge and good snacks like power bars which are sometimes easy to get down if one isnt too tweeked and fruits to replace important nutrients lost in sweat and urine. so ye thats swims lil rant later.............

but like swia said swim is also a lil over weight and the occasional binge helps swim keep his weight in controll and down before sports seasons.

Re: Eating for stimulant users...

In some ways it's probably better to be overweight as a (habitual) stimulant user... fairly easy to shed a few pounds, not so easy to put 'em on. SWIM is very concerned that if he had a problem like being bedridden in the hospital for a few weeks (e.g. surgery) or some intestinal illness, his weight could drop so low it would be dangerous. He's 5'9" and a bit below 130 at this point .

Then again, being (literally) fat and using stimulants puts a lot of strain on the cardiovascular system... so it's best to be in shape and at the proper weight, really.

Re: Eating for stimulant users...

Yeah; SWIA has seen what it can do to people to be dangerously underweight WITHOUT drug use, but combined with a bad amph habit/addiction it has the potential to be a seriously nasty thing; much more so than most people realize. With being dangerously overweight, there aren't that many day-to-day medical or otherwise problems, it will more likely be that SWIA will someday (probably while on amph or coke) have a heart attack, and probably die. So this has gone a bit off-topic, SWIA'll stop this ramble before it gets too long.

Rather than that, SWIM has *really* cut down this time to using once/week at most... which gives him time in between to eat normally (or even more than usual), not to mention have a more normal daily schedule which should help prevent depression. SWIM isn't dangerously underweight, but doesn't like to be this borderline. He should regain a more normal weight soon (minimum 140, max 160 should be about right for him). Ideally it would be muscle, but for that he'd have to drag his lazy arse to the workout room...

Re: Eating for stimulant users...

So you eat 700 claories 3 times a day while on stimulants? that equals 2100 calories...way to low even at your low body weight. Those protein shakes also have an assload of sugar, they make new weight gainer sahkes with hi gi carbs and heathy fats. I recomend with heavy stimulant use to get some fish oil capsules that are high in epa and dha and glucosamine & chrontin . These help with joint pain. Swim used to get joint pain and this has helped. I would suggest if you want to gain weight not use shakes whole meals work a lot better. I know it is hard to eat things but just force yourself to i used to eat upwards of 5,000 a day when i was into bodybuilding. I forced myself to eat 9 meals a day.

Re: Eating for stimulant users...

the only thing swiy needs to eat is freaking food.

protien is good but does not have the nutriuents that green foods do.

either swiy needs to chill from stims and have better self control or he needs to learn to eat better....its that simple.

"Make something of myself?" I'm already fully made, nothing more to do. I guess for those who feel some desperate need to be different than the way they are right now, more power to 'em. IMO the only true happiness is here/now, in the present.

Gaining muscle while doing heavy amounts of stims jsut doesn't work. you need a surplus of calories to gain muscle. It is hard to eat enough to gain muscle while not doing stims. It would be impossible or at least improbable to gain muscle while on stimulant. What does going to the gym have to do with making something of yourself. I don't see many successful people that are muscular. Its more often the opposite of that. The gym is for people to distract themselves from the stress in there lives and to get better poon thats about it. If swiy is hapyy with themselves without going to the gym then more power to ya

Re: Eating for stimulant users...

i dont understand why you have to base being in shape with being successful or not. what I mean by my last comment is get out and do something!...pretty much simple as that. that leads to more productive things and so on. i appoligized in my last post so i didnt need someone else putting in their 1/2 cent.

also, everyone has a different body type, and some are born ectomorphs, endomorphs, and one more. do some researching you'll learn. (one being able to gain muscle/fat much easier than the other) some people have no problem gaining muscle while on stims, as long as your not hooked on meth (which if thats the case you need rehab)... stims are a great way for someone to lose fat while still retaining their muscle. if you would like to aruge that i'll put up some data.

and im sorry you think that...i guess looking good (in your eyes at least) and being in shape never crossed your mind.

oh, your right about the surplus of cals, but how hard is it to eat 3 good meals a day?

Re: Eating for stimulant users...

your tellnig me to research lifting and gianing muscle? 3 meals a day. A 200 pound indivdual like my self needs to take in over 4000 calories a day. please tell me you can eat 4000 clean calories in 3 meals. i used to lift and i gained 40 pounds in muscle in a year. i ate upwards of 8 meals a day. go to a lifting forum and ask them if u can get big on 3 meals a day? (they recommend at least 6 not including post workoutshake.) swinicaine takes propylhexadrine, which is a powerful stimulant. its not epehdra to lose weight and it isn't like he does it during the day for an energy boost he goes on binges. stims are a good way to retain muscle and lose fat especially clen or dnp. But speeding up your metabolism to much will jsut eat your muscle away. please don't talk about a subject that you yourself know nothing about. the reason we are talking about success is cause that is exactly what you said. "you can go make something of your self."
Your knowledge of lifting is minimal at best. stop reading stupid magazines from the store they are bs.
About looking good though.....i think i look alot better than i did when i was 235. acctually change that i know i look good.

Re: Eating for stimulant users...

sorry i was not precise enough in my last post, i was talking about nicaine. he said he's 130ish. i was not talking about you, and why would i have been. this topic was started for information for nicaine, and not you. i dont even know where you came from.

and first off, im not into weight lifting, im a d1 level runner. i weigh 150 and comp. time. i run 60-70 miles a week. why should i care about weight lifting...its useless to me. the whole reason i said something about success is becuase you have to be motivated enough to go out and do something.(NO MATTER WHAT IT IS! and it has to start somewhere.) you cant tweak all day and sit around your computer for hours and think your going to be successful, but thats my opinion and this other guy does not care, so this is now a useless converstaion with someone i dont know or care anything about.

enough with the useless/meaningless topic of your weight lifting and how you didnt look good when you weighed a lot. sorry to hear that.

even 130 you still need to have a constant supply of nutrients split across 6 or more meals a day. what does a long distance runner know about muscle mass? long distance running is full of the scrawniest people in the world. why can't he be succesful on his computer? 2 of my close friends are multi-millionaires and they sit in their underwear on the computer all day.

your talking about meaningless things? you started this whole thing. all the guy asked was his protein shake good enough. he didnt ask about your opinion about being succesful in life. so don't try to make me look like the asshole when you in fact are.

Re: Eating for stimulant users...

Swim finds that when he has to do a long study session aided by stimulants that if he eats a bunch beforehand it helps quite a bit.

Otherwise, sometimes he goes on for so long (more than a day or so) that he needs more. Fresh fruit is the best thing he can think of. He grabs a few apples or mangos or something akin to those and finds he can eat them much easier than most anything else. They aren't much but they give him the energy and nutrition he needs to get by and when he is done and the stims have worn off he doesn't feel as bad as he would if he didn't eat anything or tried to eat something else.

Fruit or something else easy and snackable might be a good choice. Swim just finds fruit nice and easy as it is quite juicy/liquidy so it is easy to get down plus it gives quite a bit of energy for what it has.

Re: Eating for stimulant users...

SWIdr finds it easy to just drink alot of different fruit juices when he is on an amph binge. They get him alot of his needed vitamins, calaries, carbs, and other nutrients. Also taking a multivitamin/protein shake can seriously help a tweaker diet. Sometimes SWIdr find it helpful to smoke some marijuana to help him with the "munchies" and eat nutri grain bars and total cereal instead of hostess twinkies.

Re: Eating for stimulant users...

SWIM thinks he's found the perfect food for eating during a run -- NESTLÉ Hot Pockets! High in fat, high in carbs, high in protein, high in calories, high in vitamins, high in sodium. Basically it's some potent crap that would be unhealthy if eaten regularly, but looks like a good food during stimulant use to keep energy + weight up. Takes exactly 2 min. in the microwave (no patience required), tasty enough to go down pretty easy too.

The following is from the "Supreme Pizza" variety (single sandwich):

Total Fat 15g (24% RDA)
Saturated Fat 6g (31%)
Cholesterol 25mg (9%)
Sodium 610mg (25%)
Carbohydrate 42g (14%)
Dietary Fiber 3g (12%)
Sugars 12g
Protein 11g (22%)

Vitamin A 6%
Calcium 20%
Thiamine 30%
Vitamin B12 8%
Folic Acid 20%
Iron 15%
Riboflavin 20%
Niacin 20%
Phosphorus 20%
