Oh, Tokyo....

The first video was absolutely breathtaking. How wonderfully fitting is should be dedicated to Carl.

Thank you.... you just made my morning. (let me explain)

As a kid growing up in the late 60's - early 70's, we didn't have much to be proud of. Viet Nam, Watergate, race riots. The space program was something us kids could be proud of and enjoy the scientific progress NASA was showing us. My daughter was one of NASA's Right Stuff Award recipients, and we were invited to a shuttle night launch. I jumped up and down, clapping, with tears rolling down my cheeks. I was instantly transported back to July, 1969, standing in my backyard in Minneapolis and staring at the moon, wondering if I could see The Eagle. That video brought back some of those same feelings.

No problem my friend, it took my breath away as well, it makes us feel so small and yet it fills us with joy seeing the immenseness of space. There is no doubt in my mind there are other civilizations out there, and its a damn good thing cause I not sure if we as a civilization will make it.

Naw. My head once expanded and bumped against the edges of the universe,... I'm feeling quite claustrophobic just from having watched that video. Is it getting stuffy in here?

I haven't heard Floyd's "signs of life" since I was about 14. (For those of you not "in the know" signs was the opening song in the first video.)
