Expiration Date:
We have approved an expiration date of 24 months for the 20 mg capsule strength.

This comes from our good friends the FDA for metadate.

Don't know if this helps. In europe medicines with an expiration time of less than 5 years have a symbol in the container, 2 symetric triangles in vertical position.
Not to take them would be the SAFEST option however they probably only lost some potency.

Re: 3 Year Old Concerta
Swim has taken two year expired concerta and got some effects, though methylphenidate doesn't really work for him.
Other people who have taken the same expired concerta said it works fine though. Don't know about three years, might be a bit weak.

Re: 3 Year Old Concerta
swim crushed it up and parachuted it to avoid the time release and it gave a pretty decent high, first time swim has ever done ritalin so he cant compare it to the fresh stuff but he claims it was slightly more euphoric and energizing than 20 mgs adderall xr

Re: 3 Year Old Concerta
If the concerta are still in the pill bottle they are safe, also concerta do last a long time, the outer coating is the initial dose of ritalin and after that the rest is the time release, even if the initial dose is moist, the remaining time release will be fine. basically from SWIM's knowledge ritalin shouldn't decompose into anything toxic to the body. SWIM would say most definately that the age should not be a problem in these circumstances. SWIM says go ahead there should not be any problems.
