questions about DMT HCl

my buddy has about 1 gram of this stuff, between 98 and 99 percent pure. i hear the best way to use it would be to freebase it. perhaps 1mol DMT HCl to 1mol NaOH. now, after that reaction in water im sure it would be a big gob of goo, much like dpt does, right? then, it could be washed with naptha, which is supposedly a real good solvent for dmt, but the remaing NaCl would not dissolve, correct? then, it could be placed under a lamp because i hear it can boil/vaporize as low as 140F (merck index) but some other sources say different, the range is actually pretty huge. i've never seen or use naptha, just napthalene and that was a solid at room temp, so i assume naptha is a liquid, probably volatile too, at room temp. perhaps just letting it sit in a shallow dish would work well? i hear there are many different types of naptha though, so which is better to use? and where the hell would someone even get naptha? other solvents i hear work well like methylene chloride or ether, but those seem just as hard to come by for joe citizen. thanks for your time you guys!

That's funny because my friend is trying to convert her DMT freebase into DMT HCl. Your friend has a synthesized rather than extracted product I take it.
You should do an a/b. It would be easy with such a clean product to start with.
You buy naptha at the paint part of the hardware store. Get vm+p.

Naphtha is easily found in most hardware stores in the US.. Usually the name VM&P Naphtha is on it, which stands for Varnish Makers & Painters Naphtha.. There are various brands depending on where you look... It is a mixture of petroleum distillates, containing one or more of the following: hexane, pentane, heptane, nonane, etc...

With the HCl, one could inject it, but to convert it to freebase, swim would dissolve it in water, basify the water to a PH of 13.5, then add naphtha, which would pull out the DMT freebase.. Seperate the naphtha from the water and repeat with fresh solvent one or two more times.. One could then evaporate the naphtha and be left with DMT freebase, which could then be vaporized/smoked.. Save the water too, just in case swiy messes up somewhere, as it'll be easy to get back...

Just one note on the evap... don't use a light (DMT is not uv stable in freebase form SWIM believes). SWIM puts the tray of naptha (in his case pure hexane) in the cupbord and it evaps just fine.
