Thumbs down Salvia=physical loss of control?

The very first time I tried Salvia was horrible.

I smoked two hits of 10x Salvia in a bong. The effects came on immediately. I was laying down and I instantly shot up. I felt like I was my head on another person's body - I could NOT control myself for the life of me. I was walking around the room really fast, putting things away, hiding the Salvia and bong, then I walked really fast into the bathroom and in super-high-speed mode (it seemed) I started hiding a bunch of things in my makeup cabinet.

I walked quickly into the room I started out in and started getting really pissed off at my body because I didn't know how to stop moving around the place. Finally I thrust my arms up and screamed at myself, "STOP!!!!!"

I then decided to lay down on the couch and attempt to sleep. I eventually drifted off into strange dreams.

Seriously..wtf was that? Have any of you ever experienced a total lack of physical control with Salvia?

I have done Salvia about 4 or 5 times since then and each time has been uncomfortable. One time I "saw" a man in a carrot costume walking up to me to fold my body into the shape of a box. Another time I felt that I was merging into an old 40s cartoon that I had seen on TV when I was very young.

I cannot enjoy Salvia..it is so overwhelming and its effects on me are nothing like what I had read about.

Re: Salvia=physical loss of control?

SWIM has had a similar experience in which SWIY mentioned. After he had been smacked in the head with a large stamp labeled "SalviaLand", he felt as if he had to hide his 'stuff' as quickly as possible but placing them in all of the wrong places (i.e. bong in a box that would obviously not be large enough to accommodate it). He felt as if his mission were to store them away as fast as he possibly could but for some reason he could not control exactly where he was placing them.

This was SWIM's first and (fortunately) only bad experience with Salvia. He finds it more comforting when he has a sitter present with him to remind him that everything will be alright. He also enjoys turning on a blacklight while tripping - the whites, purples and greens are nothing but eyecandy

Good luck and be careful. Just because SWIY hasn't had the best of experiences doesn't mean that it will always continue. I strongly suggest thinking of a place that you would love to be in (purple field full of orange clouds with a content feeling, if need be) immediately before tripping. Your thoughts are key to your proceeding trip. (They are for SWIM, anyway).

Re: Salvia=physical loss of control?

This reaction is precisely why one is should have a sitter while taking a powerful hallucinogen. Good thing you didn't decide you needed to drive somewhere to hide stuff.

Maybe Salvia just isn't for you. Letting go and NOT trying to control the trip is key with Salvia and other heavy hitters. Trying desperately to control the trip often leads to bad trips/panicking.

Not that this is the case but, please don't decide to keep doing Salvia just because it's available. Respect, meditation and good intention are some things that may help if you decide to try again.

Re: Salvia=physical loss of control?

The obvious solution is to try plain leaves instead of extract. SWIM also finds extract so overpowering/scary/uncomfortable that he seldom smokes it.
Having to hide my stuff is a feeling I sometimes have, but I talk myself out of it.

Yeah but swim's case, he doesn't remember any of the physical actions he did while tripping on 10x Extract. His friend afterwards told swim, that he attempted to roll hisself away from the bed and tried to walk. The Tripguide then pushed swim gently in his cushion.
During that time he was a carpet gliding through a new dimension, not recognizing anything called reality.

Salvia is indeed overwhelming and pretty scary. But maybe theres time and capacity for a few more journeys.

Say SWIY to try to smoke pot before Salvia. It's good to relax you and put you in a good mood for tripping.

Re: Salvia=physical loss of control?

SWIM got this with all his salvia trips but he didn't find them strange, SWIM's theory is just go with it while tripping. Although once after being to a headshop where he had gotten a pipe free with some salvia, SWIM went home to try this pipe out (it's a small metal pipe) SWIM took a very small hit but he got the same speeding around like a headless chicken thing like others have mentioned. Fact was SWIM's dad was in the sitting room and SWIM was pacing around frantically in his room trying to hide everything.

Even though his dad would never come into the room and also SWIM's dad knows he smokes pot but SWIM got the same freak out like some of the people above mentioned. Strange but very exciting (SWIM's heart was pumping adrenaline in the bucket load)

Try the leaf maybe if you want and see if SWIY doesn't get the same issues

Re: Salvia=physical loss of control?

Ha ha, the one time swims tried salvia witha friend they had 15X extract, swims friend loaded a pipe for me, he had to leave the room for some reason, i put the bong down and WHAM!, a sudden paranoia attack, SWIM thought all his friends had dissapeared off the face of the planet, the end of the world is nigh! all stupid things like that.

Then swim's friend entered, asked how it was, swim remembers saying "ok" then suddenly standing up walking down the stairs opening his mates door(somehow) and standing in on the pavement in a very busy road just staring into space, until his friends bro started asking swim "Why are you standing out here?", "Whats Up?". to which swim replied "I dont know", When swim got back inside the house, he sees his friend stumbling around like in a trance swim thought he permanantley fucked his head up, when his friends bro said have you been smoking that salvia shit(he smokes pot himself and does other stuff),then things started to turn back to normal swim remembered the salvia pipe making swim act and think like this, there was still abit of paranoia in swim until a cig and a nice old MJ pipe properly put SWIM back into normal thinking

Strange thing was, swim dont remember getting outside at all, he remebers what was going on in hid head, SWIM saw my friends house miles away (even though being already in there) but there was all these castle walls in the way, SWIM was franticly trying to climb all these walls but this house wouldnt get any closer)

Definatley one of the wierdest drugs swims tried
