Pain.

Hi I hope someone can help, SWIMs had a problem with a wisdom tooth for some time now. It’s rotten and SWIM was meant to get it pulled in May. SWIM had a temporary filling put in the mean time.

SWIM couldn’t afford the dentist at the time and cancelled the extraction appointment and stupidly never rescheduled.

Since last night the pain has become unbearable, the nerve is exposed.

SWIM's taken Nurofen + (each tablet contains Ibroufen 200mg and Codeine Phosphate 12.8 mg) lots of them. It just isn’t helping, SWIMs taken all the Xanax hes had over the last few days which actually has helped more.

Its a holiday weekend here and there is not chance of him seeing a dentist until Tuesday.

SWIM's hoping to go and see a GP tomorrow and in his experience they often prescribe painkillers that just don't do the job.

Could someone please recommend what SWIM could ask (demand) from him to help me cope.

In the mean time this bottle of scotch is going to have to do.

Ouch. SWIM needs his Mammy.

Re: Pain.

SWIM knows that in europe the doctors are less likely to prescribe narcotics, but codeine is a rather weak painkiller. Perhaps a synthetic opioid like hydrocodone, oxycodone, or (more likely) propoxyphene would work. Tramadol could help but SWIM doesnt think that one would be any more powerful than codeine, plus theres a weird serotinergic buzz with it. SWIM would request hydrocodone if SWIY wants to make a request. But what might be more effective if for swiy to simply say that codeine and ibuprofen is not working at all, then it wont appear like swiy is drug-seeking. But does SWIY not normally respond well to painkillers? Does he normally not even feel a buzz from them?
