Re: DEA On-line newsletter for teens
Oh God, thanks Hippie, that made my luagh so much. It desn't give the "reasons why drugs are bad" but just tells youg people they are uncool. Now, I may be wrong, but aren't most drug users poeple society tells us are "cool".
Qoute the site " 1: Then why did Swim's uncle smoke it during his stint with cancer? 2: Agreed, but if Swim bakes it he doesn't get trouble with his lungs. 3:Yes it does, aren't the Dutch happy? 4: I know, but most people do. 5: WHy is that one highlighted? What are they trying to prove? 6: Sure you can, keep telling yourselves that and it might happen. Last edited by Trebor; 22-10-2006 at 22:09. Reason: Added more. |

*lol* " gettin sexual active" now that´s bad!!!
what´s up, how did those morons managed to get so much money for their propaganda? -how did it happen, and how come that amphetamine and sleeping pills are OK for a fighter plane pilot, who is navigating/controlling an 30million $ tax-paid instrument? why is marinol so much better, than smoking or inhalign a vapuourised MJ fume or a cake? Why is pervitin so bad and the germans are having a lower life span than the polish although they smoke, drink, are poroer and´re using drugs like roids and perv? questionnnnnsssss..... |

Re: DEA On-line newsletter for teens
Shouldn't the DEA, being a governmental agency, not be in the business of promoting a particular political agenda? The "marijuana is not medicine" line is extremely hotly debated right now, and some states completely disagree with them on it. Their job is not to tell people what is and is not medicine, that's the job of the FDA. The DEA should not be putting out that kind of message.
Secondly...I don't know how many people have noticed this but in all the studies linking marijuana to health benefits they almost always use a "synthetic analog" of THC. Which means to me that in all likelihood the primary motivating factor behind the criminalization of marijuana is money for pharma companies. They can't patent THC because it occurs naturally, but they can patent synthetic analogs of it. And once they get that patent, they can sell it exclusively and obviously charge hundreds of times as much. If marijuana were legalized...everyone could grow their own, and nobody needs big pharma. Looks like out and out corruption to me. |

Re: DEA On-line newsletter for teens
But they´re making a bad seting for every drug user... it´s ridicoulus, I donßt want to read signs like "smoking kills" ´cause I know that there´s a chance of dying of smoking.
I don´t want to read at the glass container that I´ll lose respect, my life and future if I were an alcoholic -which is not true; my father is a fascist and alcoholic and was most respected his whole lifetime.... Other than that, I never believed inhaling black, slightly hurting, tarry fumes to be healthy, but I made the decision, because I´m a man and like to choose myself how to life and what to die for and what I need having in my life and what not. this is called trigger, and is in myhumerous opinion psycho-terror to each and everyone and an absolutely useless one, too. Swim thinks they all need a new world war, that will destroy most of todays society and citys, at best cuased by a stupid propaganda everybody would be into, like a fanatic, that´d be triggered by the powers, to let them see what life really is about and what really is important, when they´d be staring at the graves adn the ashes of their lives, freedom and beloved -ahhh, swim would be enjoying this scenario. |

Re: DEA On-line newsletter for teens
They just promote whoevers in power's agenda. In this case bushes ridiculous and draconian weed is a gateway drug agendo. And where are kids going to get OC, it goes for top dollar on the street theres no way some 16 year old kid is going ot be able to afford 20 bucks a pill. This is just proving tht the drig czar and the bush administration is way out of touch with whats actually going on in this country.

Re: DEA On-line newsletter for teens
I've found the drug propaganda as of late to be focusing less on the negative effects of the drugs themselves, and more on a 'don't be a sheep' mentality.
To me at least, this seems like a serious contradiction since, still, the majority of people don't use drugs, so to use drugs makes you more of an individual than to not. |

The liar, which the anti-drug people are not, is explicitly distorting the truth. The bullshiter on the other hand, just wants to get their way, and completely disregards truth and fallacy in doing so. The anti-drug propagandists don't care if their information is wrong, right, or anywhere in between, all they care about is efficacy. But, as is evidenced by drug usage trends, they still suck at that too. |

Don'tcha know? Things are only medicine when a pharmaceutical company can patent them. Like marinol, for instance.

Re: DEA On-line newsletter for teens
^ Exactly. They don't have a way to exploit profits from marijuana, so it must be better to villainize it as an evil, maddness inducing gateway drug. Scientific research is thrown out of the window with a lot of things in our government. The US government goes from the gut lol.
