Did anyone see the newest episode of "Explorer"?
It's a show on The National Geographic channel, it's a series that has mainly scientific topics about an event, a phenomenon, and just tell all about whatever it is and what to expect in the future.
An episode about methamphetamine aired but focused mainly on addiction, statistics, and the actual epidemic. That didn't completely ruin it, but there were some things that as always, were inaccurately stated. Specific example:They claim the drug itself causes delusions and hallucinations, when the drug doesn't directly produce symptoms like that, but results from sleep deprivation usually even though that occurs from use of the drug. Also, meth isn't THAT easy to make. It can be done with things that aren't hard to get, but this just means it's easier to make than other drugs. The key ingredients are easy to obtain but the actual process of converting psuedoephedrine/ephedrine to meth requires intelligence and knowledge about chemistry to make any decent quality stuff. I don't mean to say I'm supportive of meth in every way and think everything negative about it is a lie, but no one ever looks at just the drug. It's always about the addiction a drug causes, never to have a simple informal purpose that doesn't go into discussing how it affects society. Did anyone else see it? |

Re: Did anyone see the newest episode of "Explorer"?
Yes, I saw it and it was definatly a anti-meth commercial designed to scare the shit out of parents and the general public. It showed the very worst drug addiction had to offer and you could have substituded any thing from alcohol to crack to heroin or any thing else for that matter and had the same show. I do not use meth but I'm wondering about the other side of meth. I would like to hear the benifits or what meth has to offer to the responsible user.

yes, I saw it. It was really sad about that young couple dying because 911 couldnt find them. And to think that an LEO stopped them earlier that evening and could have preented their deaths is even more sad, not that it was his fault or anything

I don't get how they came to the conclusion that it is anything like LSD, because it doesn't normally cause hallucinations without sleep deprivation, and I've never heard of anyone seeing "mexican cult members" or any type of hallucination from just the drug itself.
