4-x-DMT and colorblindness

From the 4-AcO-DMT thread:

This reminds me:

I have a friend who's color-blind as well, and he always claimed to me that he saw colors only when he did mushrooms (he doesn't do RCs of any stripe). I've never heard of this with any other drug— I wonder if DMT (be it 4-HO, 4-PO, 4-ACO or what have you) (or maybe 5-MeO or N-N-Naked too?) commonly produces this effect in the color-blind. Or if any other tryptamines do. Or psychedelics of any family.

There have to be some color-blind DF members; any data to share?

Re: 4-x-DMT and colorblindness

Monochromacy is caused by extreme cone deficiency or nonexistance of two or even three of the RGB cones of the eye. This means that unless these psychoactive substances will actually produce the failing cones, they will not create instantaneous rejuvenation of color. In addition to that, monochromacy is extremely rare among humans. Most who are clinically colorblind are simply unable to differentiate between two colors, such as blue and pink.

This reminds me of one of SWIM's friends experience with salvia. SWIM will probably go post about it in the phorum later tonight, and provide a link here in a bit.

Re: 4-x-DMT and colorblindness

and how do we define perception of colors normally not apparent in the visible spectrum of the nonpsychedelisezed rod-and-conally nonchallenged individuals?
