Stimulant fan compares methylone and propylhexedrine...

SWIM snorted around 75mg of methylone yesterday, enough to get a moderate buzz (albeit not very long lasting). Later after coming down, he tried some propylhexedrine (250mg oral) as a direct comparison. The result came as a big surprise -- he liked the propylhexedrine significantly better! In particular, the greater stimulation and more amphetamine-like nature. M1 is a bit too mellow/serotonin-ish for SWIM's taste. M1 euphoria is stronger at high doses, but at moderate and below doses propylhexedrine euphoria is stronger. The highs do differ substantially between the two substances, the most noticeable difference being a much more energizing effect from propylhexedrine. It closely resembles a version of dextro/methamphetamine with greater than normal sympathomimetic effects at doses high enough to be psychoactive.

The main negative to propylhexedrine is tachycardia (racing heartbeats), which does not occur with M1 and puts a significant strain on the heart. But SWIM will find a solution to it via prescription meds eventually, e.g. verapamil or enalapril.

Anyway, that's the end of SWIM's pricey M1 ordering for quite a while, given his preference. He is consistently impressed by the propylhexedrine enjoyment factor, particularly given its legal status.

SWIM is paranoid about his heart these days after a couple of close calls on coke and speed (which he's now "retired" from) crashes with no medical aids at hand. Might just have been paranoia as SWIM considers himself young and healthy... then again he'd like to be old and healthy some day.

SWIM informs me the issue could be taken care of with two prescription meds: (1) atenolol (for beta blockade, slows/steadies the heartbeat) and (2) enalapril (vasodilation, lowered blood pressure).

These two would have to be taken together (or at least not atenolol without the enalapril, unless one wants their blood pressure to skyrocket), and could probably be dosed in minimal quantities (simply to assist, not bring the body back to pre-propyl status). Only issue is how to acquire . Certainly kills a major part of propyl's accessibility benefit, although very occasional use at dosages <=125mg is probably safe.

Sorry, SWIM has never tried Adderall. His repertoire includes crystal meth (long ago), MDA (long ago), Ritalin (long ago), bupropion, cocaine, methylone and propylhexedrine.

Swim has access to propylhexedrine and adderall (albeit the adderall access is a bit more limited). However, she usually on takes relatively small amounts of adderall (20-40mg) whereas she usually takes moderate/large doses of propylhexedrine (300mg-500mg) so this comparison may be a bit skewed...the propylhexedrine is more intense which can be good or bad. It certainly seems to raise the heart rate more than adderall and interferes more with sleep (or perhaps this is simply duration). She often finds that if she takes adderall in the morning or early afternoon that she feels her normal level of tiredness around midnight or 1am whereas if she takes propylhexedrine, her heart will still be racing at this time of night.

The propylhexedrine is definately more euphoric as far as bodlyload is concerned. She did have the nice tingly sensation the first time she used adderall, but ever since has not felt such. But, she almost always feels this sensation (and much more intensely than with her one adderall experience) with the propylhexedrine.

She feels that the adderall is more helpful with day-to-day activities whereas the propylhexedrine buzz can be a bit distracting and make her focus on fun things for much, much longer than she should be. Adderall helps her wake up and get things done...well, mostly anyway. Also, the propylhexedrine tends to feel slightly psychedelic in that she often notices brightening of colors and sometimes other slight perceptual distortions whereas she doesn't notice such effects with adderall. The propylhexedrine also feels a lot harder on the body than adderall. Adderall is most likely quite a bit safer. It also makes a better study aid, although, small doses of propylhexedrine may also help in this area but she's never tried.

When SWIM tried propyl he was shocked out how much tingling there was: constant waves for hours, especially in the head. He has never had that much tingling from any drug, even xtc. It's more of an X-substitute than many other things being passed around.

SWIM eats the cotton. He's extracted propylhexedrine hydrochloride from the cotton before, but there's not much point unless one is going to inject it (which is quite dangerous, SWIM would never attempt this). The stuff is far too harsh to snort, so that severely limits options. Might as well just cut the cotton up well and put it in capsules, saves a lot of hassle.
