Missed Oxy shot *FUCK*

So about a week and a half ago my buddy tried to do SWIM an iv oxy shot. He registered red then pushed, slipped out, tried to register again, pushed and asked SWIM if it hurt.

It stung a lil and raised like a mother. So now SWIM has a bubble on his hand and put a moist paper towel on it. The bruising took about 5 days to completely go away. Now today SWIM noticed that his left hand(the miss spot) seems to be a lil number than my other. This however could of been the case before SWIM ever shot. SWIMs just racking his brain here. Any of you guys miss an oxy shot before? Did you end up going to the hospital for something?

share your experiences please and for the record it was about 15-20 mg missed SWIM has bronchitis right now. So SWIM needs to go to the doctor and get some amoxicillin for it. SWIM knows this is an antibiotic. Um maybe it could help if theres anything bad happening in his hand. SWIM doesnt feel anything hard or see anything too noticible. This sux!

The antibiotic could help if there is something going on in SWIY's hand. Usually what could happen with a missed shot is a blood blister, which is not life threatening but should probably be removed. Given the amount of time thats passed, it would have probably shown signs of infection before, but the fact that it still hurts is not consoling. SWIM does not shoot so he cant be of more help, perhaps one of our more medically-savvy members could be of assistance here. Numbness would probably not be a symptom of a post-shot infection though, fear not.

The numbing effects is most likely due to minor nerve damage, this commonly happens when one cuts oneself and generally isnt anything to worry about. A missed shot is normal for causing brusing for 5 days even up to 2 weeks of dull achy type pain can be present as the body recovers.

To SWIF this sounds like no cause for concern but he is not a medical doctor yet. Infection normally is quite obvious and causes other more central effects like general illness and signs that the body is fighting an infection.

If it is bothering SWIY alot just tell the doctor that SWIY cut his hand on a sharp wire and has noticed a strange feeling where he did it etc.

Seriously though, thats not a bad idea. If theres any doubt as to SWIY's health with this thing, just see a doctor. The amoxycillin would probably help with a potential infection, but SWIY wont know for sure without a better diagnosis than the layperson can give.

Thanx guys, swim is beginning to beleive that nothings wrong and was overreacting. With the internet, and people talking about thrombosis, abscesses, and infections. It kind of freaked swim out. Swim is not fucking with needles for a while for sure! Going today for swims meds for the bronchitis.

If I was swiO I would leave needles alone full stop as you leave yourself open to endless problems and infections. Take this from someone who is now suffering the aftermath of years of injecting.

Yeah swim will do this as well. Street drugs i.v. cant be much better for your body.

Good to hear things are better, swiOverdoze! But Mickenator is kind of right, consider this a get out of jail free card for SWIY, and if SWIY is going to inject in the future, make sure its with someone who knows what they are doing and use sterile equipment and proper technique. Take care!
