Britain upgrade Meth to Class A

SWIM lives in britain and has never seen Meth in real life, he's seen it in films, and he has even once or twice had people claim to be able to get it for him, and later drop out, change their story, and generally avoid SWIM from then on.

It seems to SWIM (he's only speculating) that it's the american media that's made britain upgrade Meth to class A, not any genuine problem that britain has with the drug. Or at least to some extent, SWIM isn't saying that there is no Meth in the UK.

This only constitutes good news for SWIM, the more illegal something is, the more fun it is, and the more fun it is, the more demand there will be for it. SWIM sees this as an excellent step towards British amphetamine fans seeing Meth on the streets and in their home town.

Fingers crossed...

I dislike amphetamines so I don't see this as bad. As for this increasing the demand, I doubht anything will come from it other then Amp fans being pissed.

Re: Britain upgrade Meth to Class A

SWIM knows exactly what SWIA is saying. Meth has had a very low profile in Britain when compared with other countries, news stories will only make it more widely known.

And from what i know (admittedly never having touched meth amphetamine) it is far more hardcore than Ecstacy or coke with which it is now classed. The classification system here is pure lunacy. If swim was less knowledgable he might look at it and say well MDMA aint that bad so surely anything else class A isnt either.

My recent post about UK drugs classification in the News forum makes this point better than I can.

SWIM's heard it millions of times in those early-morning stimulant, alcohol or otherwise chemically fuelled conversations, Alcohol is more evil than illegal drugs, drugs are good for you, the classification system is wrong, the law is wong.

Drugs aren't good for you, but alcohol is certainly more evil than many (not all) "Class A" or "Schedule I" drugs. In some cases, much worse.

The classification system is wrong, but the law is what it is (neither right nor wrong). It simply enforces the classification system.

Re: Britain upgrade Meth to Class A

My point wasn't that drugs actually are good for you or that policemen actually are the spawn of satan, just that there are huge injustices in the system and all we can do is get upset about them.
