I suppose you might mean dexedrine and methadone. Methadone is not really a recreational drug and is highly addictive. Avoid it.

I'm going to answer the question as if someone had no knowledge whatsoever on the topic. I'm sure you already know some of this but since this is an educational resource...

Dexedrine is a single-entity amphetamine product containing dextroamphetamine sulphate and is manufactured both as tablets and extended-release capsules. There are three different strengths on the market;5 mg tablets and spansules, 10 mg spansules, & 15 mg spansules. Dexedrine is a strong central-nervous-system stimulant. It's prescribed as a treatment for ADHD and narcolepsy. It hass been used as a short-term anoretic in cases of obesity; however, this application is rarely used anymore due to a number of reasons. Annually, the number of scripts written for Dexedrine is significantly lower than scripts written for it's close relative, Adderall. Keep in mind that Adderall is a racemic mixture of 4 different amphetamine entities, one of which being dextroamphetamine sulphate. This means that a 30 milligram Adderall tablet contains only 7.5 milligrams of dextroamphetamine sulphate. Thus, Adderall is a 'tamer' pharmaceutical amphetamine than Dexedrine. Recreational users prize Dexedrine for this reason. Now onto methadone..

Methadone hydrochloride is a synthetic opioid agonist and displays a high binding affinity towards mu-opioid receptors. Methadone's quantitve effects are comparable to those of morphine and include relaxation of smooth muscles, sedation and analgesia. I could go on but I want to get to your question.

Can you safely take these two powerful and very opposite drugs together? In theory, the answer is yes. The combination is very similar to a well-known cocktail called the "speedball". A speedball consists of cocaine taken with heroine and enjoys popularity in larger urban enviroments. (I'm not touting the 'speedball' as 'safe' so don't run to give me bad reps.) SWIM has in fact taken methadone with Adderall on two occasions. Both times were very enjoyable and completely devoid of direct health issues/concerns. A lot of people believe that mixing 'uppers with downers' is a good way to ensure an early death but pharmacology teaches us otherwise. The two drugs work against each other, not in unison. Depressants nullify stimulants, not vica versa. The hyperlocomotion seen with stimulant drugs essentially is what gets nullified. This isn't to say that other properties don't remain reguardless. Most people don't find much of a recreational value with methadone, and it is a powerful, long lasting opiate. If SWIY took too much he'd easily be in danger. Also mixing stimulants and opiates is close to speedballing. Its dangerous and hard on the heart. This combination is definitely not advised!

SWIM has combined stimulants and opiates before as well, and MOST of the time a user will be safe, but the long term use of the combination is not a good idea, and the risk of overdose or harm is much higher than just using one drug or the other. Often its easy to miscalculate dosages with combinations, since drugs can display a synergistic rather than additive effect. So especially for the novice user, this combination would not be advised. Benzenerings is technically correct, but due to the fact that the OP sounded like he/she did not have extensive experience with opiates, SWIM advises against them combining the two.

Swim has also tired stimulants and downers at the same time and didn't enjoy the experience at all, so please be extemely carefull if you decide to try it.
