Which alkaloids and substances are present In Hawaiian baby woodrose seeds & effects?

The is a general confusion about the thougth that hawaiian baby woodrose and related seeds are LSA. Therefore it is essential to the forum to dig into this topic.
Hawaiian baby Woodrose seeds do contain LSA, but they contain various other alkaloids/tryptamines and other substances. Which substances are in Hawaiian Baby Woodrose seeds and what are their effects?

Re: Which alkaloids and substances are present In Hawaiian baby woodrose seeds & effe

Morning glory, ololiuqui and HBWR seeds contain lysergic acid amides (LSA's)

ergine isn't the only lysergic amide found in those seeds, there have been found half a dozen other closely related compounds of various toxicities/effects.

-The main constituent of the seeds of Rivea corymbosa (ololiuqui) is ergine or d-lysergic
acid amide. Minor alkaloids present are the related d-isolysergic acid amide
(isoergine), chanoclavine, elymoclavine and lysergol.

-The seeds of Ipomoea violacea (morning glory) have a similar composition, but instead of lysergol, they have
ergometrine (ergonovine). Later, very minor amounts of two alkaloids
ergometrinine and penniclavine - were found in I. violacea by chromatography.
From TiHKAL: there are also five other alkaloids that are present in truly trace amounts in MG seeds which are agroclavine, setoclavine, festuclavine and cycloclavine, and lysergene

-Hawaiian baby woodrose (argyreia nervosa):
alkaloid name / % of Total alkaloid / % dry seed weight

Ergine / 22.68 / 0.136
Isoergine / 31.36/ 0.188
Ergometrine / 8.20 / 0.049
Lysergic alpha-OH-ethylamide / 5.79 / 0.035
Isolysergic alpha-OH-ethylamide / 3.98 / 0.024

By the way, 10 seeds of HBWR (strong dose) is 1.30g, so that would mean 10 HBWR seeds is:
1.768mg ergine (that's a psychoactive dose)
2.444mg isoergine (that's a psychoactive dose)
0.637mg ergometrine (that's a medical oxytocic dose, probably not enough to cause much psychoactive effects)
0.455 mg Lys. alpha-OH-ethylamide
0.312mg Isolys. alpha-OH-ethylamide

-At last, note that LSA's contaning seeds can produce nausea/vomitting caused by the presence of cyanogenic glycosides in the 'coating' (envelope) of the seeds (which is why people usually scrape off the thin coating before eating the seeds)

Effects of the mentionned alkaloids:

Ergine (D-lysergic acid amide) also known as LA-111 and often so called "LSA" or "LAA".
Depressant substance
Psychedelic effect at 0.5-1 mg
Albert Hofmann tried an i.m. administration of a 500 microgram dose which led to a tired, dreamy state with an inability to maintain clear thoughts.

Isoergine (D-isolysergic acid amide)
Depressant substance
Psychedelic at 0.5-2mg
Hofmann tried a 2 milligram dose of this amide, and as with ergine, he experienced nothing but tiredness, apathy, and a feeling of emptiness.

ergometrine (aka ergonovine)
powerful uterotonic (oxytocic), with powerful vasoconstrictive properties
psychedelic effect at 2-10 mg (from lycaeum)
and from TiHKAL: "there are several reports of LSD-like action at oral levels of between two and ten milligrams"
From a web search I could find that there's a prescription drug which is 0.5mg ergometrine maleate per pill, these tabs are meant for oral use of course (therefore the statement about doses above 2mg sounds creazy to me, this is quite likely to cause severe vasoconstriction with ergotism like symptoms I guess)
Ergometrine maleate LD50 i.v. in mice: 8.26mg/kg

found no info about effects and possible toxicity of the following (but I guess some may have strong vasoconstrictive properties):
lysergic alpha-OH-ethylamide
isolysergic alpha-OH-ethylamide
chanoclavine
elymoclavine
lysergol
ergometrinine
penniclavine

About general toxicity of the seeds...

these have a strong depressant effect, that means one can overdose from mixing seeds with too much alcohol (acute respiratory depression, coma and death).
Note that overdose from an excessive quantity of pure extracted alkaloids is also possible.
these also have noticeable vasoconstrictive effects (blue lips, numbness and/or tingling sensations in the extremities, cramps in the legs...). For this reason I think one should not to mix these with vasoconstrictive substances (such as ephedrine or pseudoephedrine..)

Contraindications: do not take seeds if...

#pregnancy (pregnant women)
#Life long inherited blood diseases which can cause a variety of symptoms, including mental health problems (porphyrias)
# Decreased kidney function
# Decreased liver function
# pancreas troubles
# Decreased lungs function
# Disease involving the blood vessels
# anemia
# hyperthyroidism
# Elderly people
# Heart disease
# High blood pressure
#cardiovascular troubles (hypotension/hypertension troubles)
# Infection of the blood or body tissues with pus-forming or other pathogenic organisms (sepsis)

I would also suggest that you don't use seeds if these make you feel bad (painful) cramps in the legs (which would mean that you're quite sensitive to the vasoconstrictive effect)
