That there are - comma added for grammatical clarity, & thanks Psychonaut! It has to be pointed out though that going into a chemist & asking for either df's or codeine will not get you either - asking for co-codamol (codeine + paracetomol) or paramol/codrydomol (sp? dihydrocodeine) however, will. Don't forget yer extraction though kittlings!

Arrow AW: Countries where opiates are OTC?

SWIMs opinion is that any combination containing caffeine will ruine the whole codeine expirience. What's the point of getting the "comfortness" codeine will give you, if SWIY is getting all jittery because of the caffeine? If only caffeine wouldn't be water-solutable Would be just really bad news for coffee ...

Just to get to the topic you missed mentioning New Zealand where you can get OTC preperations like Panadeine (8mg codeine/500mg acetaminophen) or Pirophen (10mg codeine / 325mg acetaminophen / 325mg asprin). That's a awefull lot of acetaminophen/asprin but SWIY could remove that quite easily with the famous CWE (which works with asprin too, right?!?).

SWIM just read the offers of some [...] and they have some quite different policies about selling codeine containing drugs:
One would you only let buy a pack of 20 each visit others give you extra discount if you buy 300 at once.
(I hope I dind't tell to much again - just got from red to green and I don't like to have another bad rating )

Just want to throw an idea here; Why don't let the acetaminophen and/or asprin let dry out after filtering and keep it? I know these pills are really cheap as hell, but actually acetaminophen really helps you with fever and the combo asprin/acetamionophen is really good for headaches - in germany this exact combo is even sold.
That might be a pretty crappy idea and I won't be mad if you called me penny-pinching and/or nuts, but the bottom line is that white stuff left in the filter is actually perfectly good medication - and it always gets thrown away.
By the way SWIM never done that and probably never will, but SWIM just wanted somebody to think about it.
SWIM couldn't even imagine how many blisters of medication he literally throwed away. And now the irony, SWIM can't even count the times when he was really hangover from partying and would kill someone for an asprin.

Sorry I went really off-topic again, but I really had to discuss this aspect of the CWE which AFAIK had never been mentioned before - I do certainly realise that most people will feel like reading the last part of my post was pretty waisted time, but I felt the urge to tell someone, because everytime SWIM throws a used coffee-filter in his trashcan he feels like he wasted usefull resources - somehow guilty.

And please don't take SWIMs sugestion that seriously because it's 1:15 am and due to the fact that SWIM is quite wasted he coudn't keep his silly thoughts untold.

Everything is over the counter in Mexico, if you know which farmacias to frequent.

SWIM has purchased:
Ketamine
Anabolic Steroids
Buprenorphine (.2mg sublingual, .3mg Injectable)
Hydrocodone
Hydromorphone
Morphine
Oxycodone (Oxycontin was quite Cheap prior to Sept. 11, 2001, wheras now quite $$$)
Benzo's (Alprazolam, Diazepam, Lorazepam, Flunitrazapam, etc
Soma
30mg Codeine (swim thinks its worthless)
And in the Whore Houses one may purchase coke, speed, smack and of course girls....

At this level of caffeine a user is risking what is described on Wikipedia as an "acute overdose." I have spoken to people who attempted recreational doses of CWExtracted-Solpadeine, and made themselves very unwell - nausea, vomiting, heart palpitation, and so on.

Solpadeine is not an appropriate preparation for recreational use. The dangers of codeine use aside, is almost certainly worth the added difficulty of CWE of an ibuprofen preparation, to avoid the dangers of caffeine overdose.
Swim often does extractions on up to 30 pills and although he does experience negative effects from the caffeine it is tolerable.

Re: Countries where opiates are OTC?

In France you can get only codeine phosphate containing pills OTC.
The brands of these meds are : Néo-Codion, Tussipax (codethyline + codeine),Padéryl.
You can get too Codoliprane (400mg paracetamol + 15 mg codeine). Codoliprane is the easiest to get.

Re: Countries where opiates are OTC?

@ returntozero, Tell Swiy to try getting off the "strip" and wander some of the "back streets". Swiy is bound to find a "mom and pop" pharmacy off the "strip" without too much trouble.

It's been about 20 yrs. but, when Swim was stationed on North Island, he had more fun off the strip in T.J. than on the strip.

Re: Countries where opiates are OTC?

In Australia we can get Panafen plus off the shelf at Chemist warehouse which contains 12.8mg Codeine Phosphate & 200mg of Ibuprofen which is higher than Panadeine Forte, yes you should do a CWE (Ibuprofen disolves 1mg/ml at 25deg), unfortunately for SWIM gets tinnitus in the ear with Ibuprofen or other anti-inflammatories, which can last for weeks

Re: Countries where opiates are OTC?

There are actually some places right here in the states that sell Cheratussin cough syrup OTC. Cheratussin contains codeine and guiafenisen btw. You have to sign a form that prevents you from purchasing more than a certain amt. per month, and it's up to the pharmacist's discretion whether they give it to you or not. SWIM doesn't know which states this is legal in, but there are many ppl that will attest to having done it.

Foreign countries like Canada and some European countries sell codeine and dihydrocodeine preparations OTC, and there are online pharmacies located overseas that sell more potent opiates without a prescription (this is very risky and ridiculously expensive, but it does exist.)

Mexico has some of the most lax prescription laws around. While you need a script for most of the good stuff, one can be obtained from any "doctor" on the street for a very low price and without showing any medical records. Pretty much all you have to do is ask. The pharmacies carry everything from uppers like Adderall to opiates like OxyContin and Dilaudid to benzos, muscle relaxers, and the rest. (SWIM knows an old couple that go there frequently and bring back their newfound treasures for personal use.) It seems very easy to do, with little risk as long as no major smuggling w/o a prescription and valid ID is involved.
