Get high off of sugar

Is it possible to get a sugar rush, or is it just a myth? SWM have read that sugar may lead to the release of dopamine and endorphins causing a mild euphoria. SWIM find's this hard to beleive. Is it possible?

Sugar does affect people in different ways, such as making some people hyper active etc... but not sure you could call it a high? I guess it all depends on the persons perspective, not everyone would see things the same way.

Re: Get high off of sugar

Red Bull is mostly active by a massive amount of sugar together with B vitamines. Ever drank 6 of those after another?
Not very healthy BTW.

On SWIM's 21st birthday night he had about 10 glass of red bull with vodka in it. It was rocket fuel and kept me going all night but as you said it's not very healthy. SWIM only slept for like an hour or two before waking up pretty much wired awake the next morning and felt like he had a knife going through his brain.

SWIM remembers as a kid putting a bag of skittles into a bottle water and shaking it about like mad and then drank it, if it wasn't a sugar buzz that SWIM got then skittles should become a class c

Re: Get high off of sugar

Wouldnt that be because of the thousands of mg's of Taurine?

Re: Get high off of sugar

When Swim weightlifts he makes a concotion that consists of 75 grams of dextrose and maltodextrose and 40 grams of whey. He drinks one of these things while lifting and another right after finishing working out. This is the equivalent of eating 72 pixie sticks in a 90 minute period. And if you count the whey, which is a rapidly absorbing protein, it's like 108 pixie sticks. Keep in mind too that dextrose is absorbed much more rapidly than sucrose, which is the normal molecule found in table sugar and candy.

Swim can definitely say that this will give me more physical energy, and keep me from tiring out, but there are virtually no psychoactive effects. Maybe a little more motivation and determination. Swim definitely says it's not worth getting diabetes because you can get a very very minor buzz of huge amounts of sugar. The endorphins give Swim much more of a psychoactive effects then the sugar. It is neat to think though that huge amounts of sugar + endorphins = nature's speed ball.

Re: Get high off of sugar

glucose is metabolized into glucuronolactone, another active ingredient in Red Bull. This is also responsible for well-being and happiness. There is definitely a connection between this and endomorphine release if you ask me.
