Re: Seroquel (Quetiapine) - Place SWiY Experiences Here

Kudos to mickey mouse, swim is prescribed seroquel, swim is not a psycho as one of our brain dead fellow contributors wound have it. But after a long time of batting around with psychologist and psychiatrists and being through the mill with lithium, all the ssri', trycilycs etc you could mention swim now loves his seroquel. It does help you sleep and does settle mood swings.

Swim has now been using the for about six months, swim would say they are perfect way to help a horror comedown in smallish doses. Swim takes takes 100m at night and swim is out cold. He takes 2 50 doses during the day. At first even that amount with fuck you up good and proper. Doses above that would mean losing most of the day and feeling like an inpatient at a secure unit. It is an atypical anti psychotic and really not that great for recreational use ( unless you enjoy slurred speech and feeling like a complete mong for about six hours )..

It is a very very heavy duty thing. Swim has experienced pretty much all the goodies there are out the but in high doses this is the strangest and heavy sedation he has known.. Except perhaps fighting zopiclone hypno sleepers... Just be careful, although in extreme cases up to 1000 m can be used for extreme sedation if some sways are not experienced and take a high dose you'll have a very very odd time indeed.!!!

SEROQUEL WILL NOT GET YOU HIGH, I am currently on serequel right now, I was prescribed it because i have insomnia, it is best used when a sleep aid, so dont take it to get high, and dont take it if you are not perscribed it, your joints can lock up and will get stuck like that, imagine having ur neck tilted to one side and not being able to move it, now that would suck seriously, so think before you take pills and always remeber to do your research before you just go and decided to pop a pill.

I was just prescribed to Seroquel to counter the weight loss effects of Concerta.

I only take 50MG, but it knocks me out in 2 hours and I have the most realistic dreams you can imagine.

Any larger dose would be sure to give you horrible nightmares.

Be very, very careful here. A friend of mine was put on seroquel. He would have realistic dreams, too. And go sleepwalking. Almost fell down a flight of stairs before I caught hold of him. He could have broken his neck.

Thats what I've been really really scared of.

State road 60 is only right out the door, so that would suck to get hit by a car.

And I also don't want to harm anyone while sleep walking.

I've gone into such a deep sleep that as soon as its time to wake up Its hard to get back into reality, as if dreaming was reality.

Weird shit...

how many MG did he take if you know?

I took 600mg of Serequel back when I was a sophomore, I remember feeling reeeealy floaty, having the pins & needles effect all over my body, and sleeping for some 30 hours. When I woke, I was exhausted and couldn't keep any straight thoughts for a couple days.

This goes to show what a human being will do to get fucked up. First the trazadone thread, now this.. I took this crap once, a week ago when it was prescribed to me. Im sorry, but I wouldn't take it again. It's not "recreational" in any stretch of the imagination. If you like this high try benadryl.

SWIM used 200mg to help him sleep after a long day of cocaine use, slept for about 13 hours and even when he woke up he felt very groggy and very slow minded. SWIM would rather get the 3 hours of natural sleep and catch up the next night, than do seroquel ever again.

I was perscribed Seroquel for a while. Helped me with sleeping, paranoid racing thoughts and the like. It didn't really end up helping in the long run, so I was taken off it. I don't understand how people would use this recreationally at all. It bothers me to even think people are selling these pills to kids out there.
The only real value 'normal' people would get from it is getting zonked out. In that case, just go to the store and buy a sleeping aid.

swim has also done these, a close friend was prescribed them. he tried 200mg and got rushes of intense sweat every hour or 2, even once he got to sleep kept waking up drenched, hot and really uncomfortable. he even had a lot of trouble getting to sleep which he has not heard of as a side effect(actually the opposite). it is very unpleasent, bad for you and even worse if yoour not prescribed them. let me be one of many to say dont fuck with anti-psycotic meds. they will send you that way if your not already. if it fun to fall asleep at school then just go to school after staying up a night or 2. yay harmless fun.
it really isnt worth the risk dieing, ending up permenantly disabled, or a trip to hospital. you would need a fuck load more than a bit or seroquel to have fun then.

Re: Seroquel (Quetiapine) - Place SWiY Experiences Here

I'm gonna post on this old thread......

I heard that 25mg of Seroquil will completely end any kind of psychedelic trip.
I don't know if this is true or not, but interesting.

Psyanyde added 1 Minutes and 5 Seconds later...

spelling correction-Seroquel

I used to have a prescription for Seroquel for anxiety. Apparently, it
wasn't really for anxiety... after demanding copies of my medical
records, I find that she really thought that I had an underlying
bipolar disorder. After smoking a lot of weed, drinking a little, doing
a shitload of DXM, I think that if I had a bipolar disorder, it would
have "came out" like a long time ago, and I've never had the symptoms.

I was taking Seroquel back when I knew absolutely nothing about drugs
period. I just took them because the doctor told me to take them. In
the few months that I was on it, I noticed that every day I had done
extremely stupid things without thinking about it.

All I can say is... Seroquel is some weird ass shit that is not meant to get high off of.

I got a script of Seroquel for anxiety and sleep. The second time i took, i took 50mg's. and i freaked out, started to hallucinate i was seeing little scary blackthings (was night), and it was also causing me to have bad anxiety attacks (uh isn’t that what is was suppose to prevent?) anyway it was a bad experience that lasted hours. has anyone else have this happen?

I have had a perscription for Seraquel for 3 months for the same reasons as you. I have taken as many as 15 of em and all it ever made me do was pass out. Me and some friends have tried to trip off it many times because I have heard it's possible but all it ever did for us was knock us out.

Anti-Psychotics are bad, really bad i dont care what your current view is these drugs only exist because they are prolly cheap to produce and are the only thing that has been found to help treat certain extreme disorders the more i learn the worse i view this entire class of drugs for recreational use they are horrible i've read about kids losing conscience walking down the hall at school cuz of a few small 25mg seroquels unless u dont care about ur mental health and you are looking for a specific type of psychoactive reaction and have no other way to get it other than anti psychotic i completely disagree with your discession to use this for recreation. These drugs are meant to help keep extreme cases of mental illness sedued from anxiety and psychosis these poor people spend most of their lives sleeping or drooling..... just think of what these drugs could do to our uneducated youth

Re: Seroquel?

Swim had been given some of these seroquel pills from a friend for a sleep aid as it had been 8 nights with no sleep, after the 5th night swim went to a walk in clinic as it takes too long to get an apt at his GP.

At the clininc the dr. perscribed 7, 7.5mg tabs of imovane (sp?) 1 a night for 7 nights these did nothing for swim, 1 the first night, 2 the 2nd night 3 the 3rd night still no sleep.

then his friend gave him these seroquels 1 pill made him very tired and almost did the trick so a 2nd was taken and, what a releif sleep! so swim now will take 2 of these seroquels (25mg each) only after 3 or more days without sleep, doesn't want to be dependant (but unfortunatly the dr.'s only tell him no caffine and Rx'd only 7 of those imovane which didn't work at all really.

Now I hear you guys all saying that you triped out and saw shit swim experienced none of that, but what did happen was some of the most f'd up and vivid dreams he ever had! (very rarly even remembers any of his dreams)

Anyone else notice difference in dreaming on the seroquels? Swim had dreams of his parents (who are both no longer with us for about 5 years) and vivid recolections of old residences like homes from when he was a kid and have not thought about for YEARS!

Anyone else?

Re: Seroquel?

Insomnia is hell. Finally sleeping after several days can unleash some very vivid dreams. Bad analogy but: It's like being constipated. It all comes out in the end.

Regards seroquel producing vivid dreams, it can contribute I know. A friend of mine was put on this drug at extreme (800mg) doses due to a mis-diagnosis. It also causes sleep-walking, night-terrors, combativeness WHILE asleep - it was a mess, as was he. But this happened with continued and forced administration ordered by a state doctor.*

Many people have used seroquel for occasional insomnia, with no complaints. It will knock one out at the proper dosage. Whether or not it is truly contributing to the vivid dreams is open to debate. But used often at excessive doses - you read what I warned it could cause. Anyone who has insomnia that is ongoing or repeating should see a physician. And not just to get some pills. Insomnia can be a symptom of more serious illness which needs to be addressed.

* My friend has since stopped the medication and is doing very well.

SWIM took seroquel once to combat insomnia, but spent half of the next day in a daze, thereby defeating the purpose. SWIM tossed the rest.

Re: Seroquel?

Hi everyone. I'm willing to share something about me to help others. When I was about 26, I was diagnosed as Manic Depressive. I was so Manic, and then terribly depressed because I cycle rapidly at times. I never slept. It was probably the most awful moment in my life aside from my childhood.

When you are first diagnosed the first year is the worst because the psychiatrist has to find the right mixture of meds. I was on Depacote for nine months and gained fifty pounds in three months. That's only half the problem with these meds. Most psychiatric drugs have weight gain as a major side effect. If you want to know what I look like now you can look me up on myspace.com My name is maplesky.

Back to the meds, I was placed on risperdol (sp) which made me lactate and drool..It was disgusting. The drug that pretty much saved my life was Seroquel. I took 400 mg per night. I had to make sure I was in bed before I took the drug because it works pretty fast. If you are up and around you become dangerously disorented and can end up psychically hurt from falling. But, it put me out like a light for hours. The scary thing about that drug is that your brain is so asleep that you don't wake up for anything...like fire engines, fire alarms, and if I heard someone break in, it wouldn't register until it was too late. I took Seroquel for four years, and then developed a terrible side effect called Neuroleptic-induced Acute Akathisia.

According to DSM IV Akathisia: Subjective complaints of restlessness accompanied by observed movements, fidgety movements of legs, rocking from foot to foot, pacing or inability to sit or stand still, developing withing a few weeks of starting or raising the dose of neurleptic medication. This is truly a frightening and uncomfortable feeling, and there is nothing that will stop it. You can't even sit and watch tv. You constantly rub your legs and arms, and there is a fairly high pain level associated with this.

Since Seroquel is an anti-psychotic, when one moves past the state of psychosis the medication begins to take a toll on the body.

This is not a drug to play around with. Especially in high doses. It just so happens that in the last year I've been rapidly cycling again and I'm back on the Seroquel. I have to be careful how much I take and it's kind of a game.

Seroquel-Very little recreational potential

SWIM has been taking seroquel for over two years now for bipolar disorder and has obviously become curious of its potential to be used recreationally. First off, Seroquel makes you VERY VERY tired leaving SWIY with a very small window of opportunity to be awake to enjoy it. However SWIM has made a recent discovery about this powerfull anti-psychotic. SWIm has been taking a regular does of 300mgs PM and 100mgs AM so the tolerance was generally high in SWIM. One day SWIM took 600mgs to see what it would do and when he was peaking, he found himself in a semiconcious state of mind, where he felt like he was sleeping but was awake for most of the time. He was lost from reality for about an hour or two and then the drug would wear off. Its dificult to explain.

Doing what SWIM did was dangerous because seroquel lowers SWIYs blood sugar and blood pressure(that may explain SWIMs complete loss of reallity), sometimes to dangerous levels if taking a dose that is too high. Seroquel is not a medication that can be played with, with dosages like other meds and tolerance doesnt build very fast.

One time SWIM even took 900mgs( from a 300mg daily usage) which is a very large jump for a seroquel dose and SWIM was gone from the world, in a semiconsious state again. If anybody could explain the cause of this better then SWIM can, please do. And please add any chemical information that could be usefull.

One more thing. Do no ever, ever snort seroquel. It throws SWIYs bloodpressure too low, as well as your bloodsugar. Snorting it causes halucinations that are not enjoyable but in fact very painful.(if SWIYs hallucinations are of something that may be attacking you) For example: If SWIY sees bees flying around him and stinging him, he will actually feel the attacks as the hallucinations feel incredibly real. Obviously, when he snaps out of it and the seroquel wears off, SWIY will find himself unharmed. But during the "high"(mysery is more like it) it all feels so real.
