Wow! You guys know so little about it. It has personally helped me with my OCD/Bipolar alot. I wouldn't reccomend it for recreational use unless you just wanna be really sleepy.

Not a drug to be used recreationally. Like metalslug0 said, it will just make you sleepy and it is for serious mood disorders like bipolar or schizophrenia.

I'm perscribed 125mg of seraquel a day. I take one 25mg in the morning
and it makes you pretty tired for a bit, but once you start moving and
working you feel energized again. I take the other 4 at night which
equals no-matter-what-happened-today-you're-going-to-sleep-now. Helped
my insomnia, and it's helping my bi-polar. Been feeling great, so it's
a good drug for that. The only recreational use I see out of this is if
you get your jollies off passing out, or helping some mental
disorders.. of course.

I'm addicted now. It is horrible, i've taken a liking to it... i take somewhere around 1200 mg every night just to get to sleep. This is my first time to be addicted to it, ive been on it for 3 years. I NEED it every night or i feel like shit... I also have an extreme addiction to caffeine. about a twoliter a day of mountain dew, or more if i can afford it, and constant energy pills/drinks. Look don't even mess around with seroquel, it's not that cool of a drug anyway, and you CAN become dependant on it.

Seroquel is great for sleep. It is an atypical-antipschotic. It was originally prescribed for Schizophrenia and then for bi-polar disorder. However, it can be used for other disorders. My doctor gave it to me for sleep. This drug will definitely knock you out. I take 100mg every evening.

seroquil sucks. It 's an antiphsychotic and most rehabs I 've been in give it out to everyone they think may lose it (a become a threat). When they give it in the morning you can always tell cause everyone is slumped completely over in their chairs sucking their own dicks (figuratively) and droolin all over their shoes (literally). Everyone that I know that has taken it for more than a month becomes a prisoner.

eight months ago I had some extreame slleping problems where I couldn't sleep at night no matter what I tried so after about 3 weeks of not getting any sleep I want to the doctor. He had recomemnded that I try taking 50mg of Seraquil 1 hour before bed. Low and behold it was putting me to sleep right away. But I had a few problem with it. One night I had taking it to go to sleep and about an hour after I had fallin' asleep I need to go to the washroom. I had gotten up and walked down the hallway, opened the door to my bathroom and walked towards the toilet, the next thing I remember is waking up on the floor very confused, bleeding from my nose and head, with my girlfriend asking me if I was ok. Apperently I had passed out and smased my head on the toilet bowl.

I spoke to my doctor the very next day about what had happend, and he had told me that it was a normal side effect and that if I had read the safty sheet that came with the meds. I would have known that standing up too quickly while on Seraquil can cause you to pass out. What a bullshit side effect. Never the less I stopped taking the medication and had some weird withdrawls. I experienced body tremors and extream mood swings as well and an increased leval of agitation like when I tried to quit smoking. I DO NOT recomend Seraquil for rec. use nor do I recomend letting a doctor perscribe it to you as a sleeping aid.

I would much rather use over the counter sleeping aids then ever used something that has to perscribed.

ok cause swim has a problem with sleep and heard that it will show up on a test as a benzo, and swim has to have his swimmer take a urine test every month.

worst of all anti-psychotics, has too many side effects, messes with sleep cycles, makes you zombiefied...and also may cause seizure like symptoms.

SWIM would recommend quitting the caffeine - it's quite likely the two problems are playing off each other, as Seroquel has some antagonist effects on adrenaline.

If SWIY managed to cut out caffeine, they could then discuss with their doctor about tapering down the Seroquel (perhaps with no further complications). SWIM is not a doctor himself, but recommends giving this a try if SWIY desires to quit using Seroquel.

P.S. SWIM feels that despite being considered 'nonaddictive', Seroquel has certain things in common with benzodiazepines: Namely, quick/easy sedation, convenient sleep aid, etc. Such features can become 'too attractive' to almost anyone, and so-called psychological addiction can become an issue. Even though it may not create a pleasant high, people should be aware of this factor.

Re: anybody know of Seraquil?

I have taken Seroquel as a sleep aid and mood stabilizer for the last few years. It's a decent candidate for those areas and other than completely dictating your sleep cycle (i.e. you will sleep after you take your night-time seroquel, not before), it has few side effects that get in the way of my life. Most of the time I forget that I'm on a medication, and the emotional effect is subtle.

However, probably no potential for recreational use whatsoever- taking more than the recommended dose is not fun. Sorry, SWIY will have to look elsewhere for prescription drugs worth "abusing".

Re: anybody know of Quetiepine (Seroquel)?

SWIM tried this once and hated it most of any atypical antipsychotics SWIM has tried to date..... the reason being that Seroquel intensifies feelings of pain and it seemed to make SWIM ache all over all day long. NEVER AGAIN!

This effect of Seroquel is actually used clinically to dissuade clinical depressives from committing suicide.... donno if it works....
