What is Dissociation?

SWIM has tried DXM many times. SWIM doesn't exactly know what a dissociate is. Meaning, how does it feel to be dissociated?

SWIM remembers when he did DXM, not only when he was on it, but a few days afterwards he felt sort of "out of touch" with his senses. Does that make sense? Can someone else describe their feelings of dissociation?
