Getting Swampy

Swim's friend recently demonstrated a technique for making Swamp Juice (marijuana infused alcohol) that was new to swim.

Ingredients:
-one bottle of Everclear (750ml)
-1/2 ounce of low grade marijuana (can use more or better quality if desired)


IMPORTANT: SWIY should be STONE SOBER to attempt the following steps that Swim's friend followed.

1. Grind up the weed (a coffee grinder works best.)

2. Pour 4/5 of the Everclear bottle into the top of a double boiler.

3. Put water in the bottom of the double boiler.

4. Turn the heat on stove to low, being extremely careful not to light the Everclear on fire!

5. Sautee the weed in the everclear for 45 minutes or so, constantly monitoring the temperature to ensure the mixture does not get too hot.

6. Let mixture cool, then pour back into empty everclear bottle. It is not necessary to filter out the ground up weed.

7. (optional) Let mixture mellow overnight before drinking.

Now SWIY has a bottle of murky green alcohol that can be mixed with anything to get SWIY both drunk and high. This mixture is absolutely great for packing in a flask and taking it to a location where one can drink, but not necessarily smoke. Swim would never drink it without a mixer though, since 190 proof everclear burns!

Do NOT do this if using a gas stove and don't have insurance! The double-boiler will make the alcohol fumes spurt out and possibly catch fire. Electric-Range or bust. Use ice-cubes in the top of the double-boiler - dry ice if you can. Have a fast hand ready and a fire-extinguisher.

Boiling flammable solvents carries high risk. Respect this.

Nagognog, you're probably right about that. Swim's friend has performed this maneuver twice on a gas stove, but perhaps he has been rolling the dice and has just gotten lucky. In my original post I did try to stress that being careful and sober were extremely important.

A safe(r) alternative would be to use 100 proof (or less) liquor, as vapors from these would not readily ignite. Vodka or light rum would probably work well.

Sickman hasn't read the EASY recipes for making Swamp Juice ( aka Green Dragon).

3. Wait a day or two. Strain-out the flowertops.

4. Drink some (with mixer, if you like).

Weed does NOT need to be heated to perform an extraction.
Simple is good.
