hmmm feel sick as soon as i taste alcohol?
ok this is really weird and annoying.... this started a few months ago.... i used to be able to drink so much. i would go clubbing and buy lots of shots and stuff all thru the night, over 20? anyways.... for some reason as soon as i have a certain amout of alcohol (like 2 glasses of JD and coke) i would start to feel really sick... im not drunk i just feel really sick, then after another glass or so i would end up being sick. i dont have a clue y and i can carry on drinking after for a bit more another 5 6 glasses or whatever then the same....
The same happens when i tried a cigarette the other day. took one puff and felt really sick. my mouth would get all watery. u know what happejns b4 your about 2 throw up but i dont throw up.... and when im smoking weed. id have a few puffs and feel really sick, if its quite strong id throw up then be ok... this is really weird :S ne1 know y this might be? i dont do any other type of drugs/take any medication. just a normal person. |

As far as those side effects go, you may well have a weak stomach caused by some sort of illness. It might be advisable to go and see a doctor. Also, try drinking less sugary, syrupy alcoholic beverages. Very sweet drinks can cause sickness as they are generally unhealthy.

The same thing started happening to SWIM after a big party and doing tequilla bongs. I think that coinsuming large amounts it messes with your liver. It will take a while untill your body gets back in line

Can't help much with your actual question (aside from seconding the motion to get yourself checked out by the sawbones), but I recommend club soda if you've got a Coke habit. It has all the fizzy goodness without all the nasty extras. It's gotten me off the corn syrup highway.

Miyagi,
I dont know how long swiy has been using Alcohol but swim suggests strongly you give it up.Swim has been down that long road and in swims opinion you are at the start of it. Swiy's body is rejecting alcohol if swiy ignores this swiy will wind up vomiting when swiy has no alcohol in the blood. |

Your symptoms are far from normal and I would strongly advise to get a liver/body check up, go to a doctor.

You are exhibiting symptoms of what is called reverse tolerance. This occurs in chronic alcoholics but can manifest itself if an exisiting liver problem is present. In this case even a single drink can cause one to become inebriated, as well as sick. Is SWIY's liver enflamed or swollen? Lightly press on it and see if it is tender. In addition, go to the doctor immediately, have him check you out and do a blood screen (liver enzymes).

OK, you need to cut right down on fizzy drinks, they aren't good for you and probably have alot to do with the problems you are experiencing. Please read the following part of an article on the harm soft drinks can do to your health and TBH i doubt this is anywhere near all the problems they cause. You might want to do your own research on this aswell. And IMO any doctor worth his salt will tell you the same. http://www.cspinet.org/liquidcandy/ Soft drinks provide large amounts of sugars (mostly high-fructose corn syrup) to many individuals' diets. Soda pop provides the average 12- to 19-year-old boy with about 15 teaspoons of refined sugars a day and the average girl with about 10 teaspoons a day. Those amounts roughly equal the government's recommended limits for teens' sugar consumption from all foods. Soft drinks are a problem not only for what they contain, but for what they push out of the diet. In 1977–78, boys consumed more than twice as much milk as soft drinks, and girls consumed 50 percent more milk than soft drinks. By 1994–96, both boys and girls consumed twice as much soda pop as milk. Heavy soft drink consumption is associated with lower intake of numerous vitamins, minerals, and dietary fiber. The empty calories of soft drinks are likely contributing to health problems, particularly overweight and obesity. Those conditions have become far more prevalent during the period in which soft drink consumption has soared. Several scientific studies have provided experimental evidence that soft drinks are directly related to weight gain. That weight gain, in turn, is a prime risk factor for type 2 diabetes, which, for the first time, is becoming a problem for teens as well as adults. As people get older, excess weight also contributes to heart attacks, strokes, and cancer. Frequent consumption of soft drinks may also increase the risk of osteoporosis—especially in people who drink soft drinks instead of calcium-rich milk. Dental experts continue to urge that people drink less soda pop, especially between meals, to prevent tooth decay (due to the sugars) and dental erosion (due to the acids). Frequent consumers of soft drinks may also be at a higher risk of kidney stones and a slightly higher risk of heart disease. More research is needed in both of those areas. Besides the sugars and acids, other soft drink ingredients are of concern. Caffeine, which is added to many of the most popular soft drinks, is a mildly addictive, stimulant drug. It also increases slightly the excretion of calcium. Artificial colorings, especially Yellow No. 5, promote attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder in some children. Yellow No. 5 also causes hives, asthma, and other allergic reactions in a small number of individuals. |

Sounds like you might have an ulcer and alcohol is aggravating it. Smoking can also slow the healing process of an ulcer. Either way get a check up and tell them your symtoms spacifially.

If you need to drink spirits, make yourself a screwdriver, that's 30% vodka, 70% orange juice, lots of ice. SWIM has found that this is by far the easiest way to get spirits inside yourself. Ice in spirit-based drinks is underrated, the cooler it is, the easier it is to drink. |
