Drug dealer tip-offs on increase

This from BBC News Scotland:

Drug dealer tip-offs on increase

This warning is issued on the Crimestoppers website

Drug-related calls to an anonymous crime hotline have increased by 40% since the launch of a campaign.
Crimestoppers reported the rise after the latest phase of the £370,000 Drug Dealers Don't Care initiative.
The campaign began at the end of August in areas hardest hit by violence in western Scotland and Edinburgh.
Posters, leaflets and newspaper and radio adverts have urged people to help police target the drugs trade behind violent crime.
Deputy Justice Minister Hugh Henry said: "The increase in drug-related calls sends a clear message to the dealers that the general public have had enough of those peddling this evil trade."
The current phase of the campaign was launched on 29 August in areas of Inverclyde, Glasgow, Renfrewshire, Edinburgh, North Ayrshire and West Dunbartonshire. It has been funded by drug money and assets seized from criminals under the Proceeds of Crime Act. Mr Henry added: "If you have information of drug dealing in your area - share it and let's rid the streets of the scourge of drugs."
