Is there any standardized measure of the wholesale and retail price of drugs?
The reason Swim is asking is because he got the great idea to start selling options and futures on drugs. Swim figures a big problem most distributors must have is insecurity in price, especially the small time operations with little liquidity. If Swim could find a trusted, incorruptible source for the wholesale and retail price of drugs (something he could index the options and futures too) he could start underwriting these securities and make a good bit of money.
EDIT Addendum: Just to be clear so I don't get yelled at and get my thread closed this wouldn't be an illegal activity. This would simply be a bet structured in such a way that the payout is related to the price of a specific drug as represented by the index. This would be legal everywhere that recreational gambling is. It could be used by keeping engaing in illegal activity, but simply offerring these contracts would not be illegal.
