BSO Seeks Dope Dealing Daddy

DANIA BEACH Broward County deputies are searching for a suspect dubbed the “Dope Dealing Daddy”, who got his nickname for selling crack cocaine to detectives in an undercover drug still while he held a baby in his arms.

The investigation began in June, when Broward Sheriff's Office deputies in Dania Beach started a three-month investigation into illegal narcotics sales in the city.

Wearing street clothes, deputies in unmarked cars made numerous drug buys and videotaped the deals.

BSO says it has arrested nearly all the dope dealers in the operation, but they're asking for the public’s help in putting a name to the face of the baby toting drug dealer who was videotaped by detectives in the undercover drug buy sting at a Motel 6 parking lot.

The deal went down at about 11 p.m. on Aug. 2 in the parking lot of the motel at 825 E. Dania Beach Boulevard in Dania Beach, investigators say. The man sold an undercover deputy two rocks of crack cocaine.

Investigators need to identify the man, partly because they want to make sure the child is receiving the proper care. Detectives say they didn't want to make an arrest at the moment for fear of the child being put in danger by him, perhaps in retaliation.

According to the National Alliance for Drug Endangered Children, children exposed to a drug environment may face dangers such as physical abuse, sexual abuse, medical neglect, and lack of basic care like regular meals and sanitary and safe living conditions. If ignored and left unmonitored, these children continue to be victims caught in a cycle of drug abuse.

Anyone who recognizes the suspect is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS. A cash reward of up to $1,000 may be available for anonymous information leading to his arrest.

Police want to know if you recognize this man.
