A suspicious mail or internet order according to the DEA

These apparently are the criteria that the DEA uses to decide if SWIY´s mail ( or web) order is suspicious or not.

http://www.deadiversion.usdoj.gov/pu...ndix/app_e.htm

SWIY should take a quick look at it before placing the next order.
We don´t want to look supicious, do we?

US Attorney General Gonzales has just bitched and moaned that we need to put more pressure on all ISP's to save all records of customer web-surfing for at least 2 years. His premise is that only in this way can America put a stop to child pornography...

And if you believe that - I'll sell you a bridge in Tokyo.

Using the "stop the kid-rapers" is an awfully convieniet excuse. What politician would dare to oppose such a piece of legislation? It works perfectly! But now that all of our web-use is available to the Federal government LE in the USA (in case we like 8 year old Nonotchka in the Ukraine), what would happen if the Feds took the IP addresses of all the known drug forums and told a magnum-computer to sift for all IP's that ever went to these sites? Or all the IP's of those who went to the sites of opposition candidates for elections? Or went to purchase certain music or books?

You ask if we are living in Stalinist Russia? Baby - they had it easy. If Attorney General Gonzales gets away with this - the Feds can find out what kind of underwear you buy, what color eyes your mom had, and what church you don't attend each week.

Don't just sit there going "ULP!" If you are an American citizen reading this - call your Senators and Congresspeople and raise bloody-blue murder! And call all your friends and tell them you'll never speak to them again if they don't do likewise. Feel free to re-post this anywhere you see fit.

The bad thing about all of this, what are them bastards doing that we don't know about. Bet old swim here writes dozens of letter a month to his senator and anyone who will listen. But, he is afraid they do fall on deaf ears.

I don't know where you live, and I hope you do something about it. Where I live I get actual letters back. Not a photocopy telling me thanks for submitting your question and our robot will call you for a donation.

One trick I learned long ago is this: One phone call is nothing. A series of phone calls means we mean business. A series of written letters (same subject) means serious business. This works for both politicians, and for dealing with the news media. Both politicians and the media believe that one person's opinion is not "newsworthy." But as the numbers add up - they figure that for each call/letter they receive, there are likely at least 10 other people sharing the same viewpoint.

Yeah, I get a letter back every once in a while, saying thanks for my input and such. My senator is a yes man for Bush, and the rest of them are nothing but puppets. Elections are coming up, but not soon enough.

They're basically saying "k'thanx bye"...in the nicest most smarmy way possible, of course.

Life moves pretty fast ... I'll get this fucking planet running right sooner or later. *PULLS THE STRING*

forget about trying to get these old political farts to do anything for you unless you lobby with $$$ ... just forget it!

I've seen the US government allow the dumping of toxic waste into well water and seen the mutations it created on humanity ... I've watched kids grow in unnatural ways because of this and die young and crying.

Do not talk to these people, they are not human.

I hate politcians. Last election, I met the taoiseach and he, of all things, patted me on the head, on the fucking head. I wanted to throw my bottle of Pepsi at him, worst of all though, he called my Alan.
1: I never met the man before.
2: That means there was no way he could have known my name.
Hate them. They are, like Bbeeker said, not human.

I encourage you to spit on them.

By the way, some precious insights about the workings of american,(and therefore world´s) politics can be had watching the documentary "Confronting the evidence". You don´t have to belive everything it says or even its main thesis, but the TV newsclips assembled in the film are an undeniable reality.
The DVD is offered for free on the web and it´s downloadable as torrent from different sources, but even then it was´nt easy to get hold of a copy even in Europe. For some reason no western TV station has ever transmitted even some parts of it.
A short time ago, I got the information that the producer of the movie, a troughbred american, had to move to Austria because of repeated assaults by unidentified thugs and several convincing death threats. I asked to my boss to let me go to intervew him instead of being sent to Holland to see a marine museum, and he agreed that it was a great idea. However 48 hours later I was informed that I was going to Holland after all, that this "crazy american" was not our concern, and that our public was tired of conspiracies.
When I asked why he suddenly changed his mind after being so enthousiastic about it , he told me that the publishers were against any reference to "confronting the evidence" in our paper.
It must be said that "our publisher" beside being the richest man in Denmark (and one of the richest in the world), and one of the world´s biggest shipping magnates, with interest in anything, from airlines to insurances ,to energy to whatever you care to mention, made his fortune by obtaining from the danish government a monopoly on the extraction of the North Sea oil. He is a very private and discreet man and actively tries to suppress any reference to his person in all national and international media. One of the few things we know for sure about our boss is that he still considers himself first of all an oilman and he is on very friendly terms with the american oil industry and with unspecified members of the american administration.
Maybe my wife is right when she says that I´m paranoid but anyway, if you manage, try to see this film.
Just for fun.

Americans' 4th Amendment protections against unreasonable search and seizure have been gutted in recent decades. The primary impetus, until recently, was the War on Some Drugs. Now it's the War on Some Terrorists.

Remember, 9/11 changed everything. We have to destroy America in order to save it. If nosy inspectors can't read our email, go through our letters, and break into our houses without court approval, then the terrorists have already won.

It would almost be hysterically funny if it were not so true. It would also almost be bearable if the US were not demanding that everyone follow in lockstep with them. ‘You’re either with US or you’re against US’ seems to be the phrase of late. It is almost as if two sets of fundamentalist ideologues are in a winner take all slugging match to see whose 10,000 commandments the rest of the world will be forced to follow.

Voltaire truly declared the Enlightenment a few centuries too early.

My test subject has spent years reading about philosophy, ethics, economics, and political theory in an attempt to solve the problem of politics. One night, he had a really bad trip on 2C-E; I call it a bad trip because it was Not Fun, but in reality it healed him more than any trip before or since.

At one point during that trip, he was told by something that seemed (to his drug-fevered imagination) to be a higher power or alien entity. The entity said that the problem was not one of politics or economics, but one of culture - the primitive, territorial culture of the primate. It went something like this:

Quote:
THE KINGDOM OF HEAVEN IS A REAL PLACE. IT'S NOT A MAGICAL FAIRYLAND; IT'S OUT HERE, AMONG THE STARS. HUMANKIND CAN BE A PART OF IT, BUT NOT UNTIL YOU'VE EVOLVED BEYOND YOUR PRIMITIVE WAYS.

IT LIES BEYOND ECONOMICS OR POLITICS. THE PROBLEM IS ONE OF CULTURE. THE PRIMITIVE, TERRITORIAL CULTURE OF THE PRIMATE. THE ECONOMIC NOTION OF SCARCITY. FOR ALL YOUR ADVANCES, YOU STILL FEEL AS IF YOU MUST SQUABBLE OVER THE LAST SCRAP OF RESOURCES. YOU WORSHIP ANGRY DESERT GODS; GODS OF DESOLATE PLACES WHERE YOUR ANCESTORS WERE FORCED TO STRUGGLE AGAINST ONE ANOTHER FOR SURVIVAL. CORPORATISM, SOCIALISM, AND COMMUNISM ARE JUST TWISTED REFLECTIONS OF THIS CULTURE.

YOU MUST MOVE BEYOND THIS. YOU MUST LEARN THAT THERE IS PLENTY FOR ALL, IF YOU KNOW HOW TO TAKE IT. WE CAN'T HAVE AN ENTIRE RACE MOVING THROUGH SPACE CLAIMING EVERY ROCK IN THE NAME OF GOD AND COUNTRY - THAT WON'T WORK. YOU MAY CLAIM SOMETHING IF YOU WANT TO EXPLORE IT, OR USE IT FOR SOMETHING (INCLUDING JUST APPRECIATING IT'S INTRINSIC BEAUTY). YOU MUST NOT CLAIM ANYTHING SIMPLY FOR THE SAKE OF POSSESSING IT; THAT IS THE WAY OF THE SIMIAN. YOU CERTAINLY MAY NOT CLAIM OTHER PERSONS.
(Sorry for the ALL CAPS, but that's how it felt.)

A strange experience, but the subject has taken it to heart. It was spiritual, even if there are no spirits; if nothing else, the chemicals helped him figure out something his conscious mind couldn't while sober.

I think the psychology of intolerant control freaks might be related to the primate brain as well. NOT LIKE US! NOT LIKE US! DESTROY! DESTROY!

These are the types of things swim seeks during his trips, but has never had enlightenment so pronounced or memorable. Good job.
