Swim saw someone mention GHR (Growth Hormone Replacement) mentioned as having GHB effects in the Legal GHB Alternatives thread. Swim is curious if anyone has tried this and what their experience was as Swim was looking to buy it several weeks agao but decided that it was probably bunk.

What a slimey marketing scam! Why don't they next sell malathion as "Kiddie-Sex Pops" and really rake in the money?

That's been around a while. SWIM thinks there is still possibly some GHV out there too, but at a rediculous price. There are also growth hormone releasing products that do not have the psychotropic effects of GHB. The most common is GABA, which still causes growth hormone release, but does not cross the blood brain barrier.
There are no over the counter replacements for GHB. The closest would be kava.

GABA could be quite useful, if one is chemically inclined. Didn't some folks come up with a workable GABA -> GHB synth on the hive?

GHR is a product put out by the same guys that put out red dawn and other questionable "legal highs. The concept of growth hormone release is a concept that is popular among bodybuilders. GHV was marketed a few years back in a product called tranquili g(it was removed from the market). Ive seen it advertized in Aussie bodybuilding sites as a topical agent for relaxation. I think that the closet you can come to ghb is phenibut , but its a tricky substance to work with. phenibut,both pros and cons , has been discussed in this and other forums.

Gaba is the safest and best way to GHB or GBL, but it still requires a lot of work and produces a toxic gas as a byproduct. Better than the 1.4 BDO or other precursors. By itself, GABA has no GHB like effects except growth hormone release and possibly a mild dopamine rebound. Combined with theanine and phenibut, it gets a little closer, but still nothing like the real deal..
