Trips
I've been reading the DMT experiences thread and my god, but they are amazing, all involving the same things, elves, lights, the sounds, which brings me on to the point, this shows that the pyschology of the trippper has fuck all to do with the actual trip and that what the triper is seeing, is obviously coming from somewhere else, I mean, if it isn't so, I seriously doubt that all the people who saw the elves are Lord of the Rings fans. It also shows that there is some basis for a sort of synchronisity in drug induced hallucinations.
Terennce Mckenna, an avid mushroom enthusiast experienced DMT and came out with the most amazing trips, one of which is posted here: http://deoxy.org/timemind.htm I'd enjoy if some of you showed that to Swiy and asked them if any of this brings back any memories.I'd greatly appreciate your thoughts and ideas so please let me know as this is something I find to be very interesting. *EDIT: Spelling mistake I wanted to correct. the mind is not the brain, it is the product of the processes taking place in the brain. -Bilzor i think, the analogy that walking is not the leg but the product of the processes of...
which still leaves open the question of where exactly the mind is located since it is extracorporal to all intents and purposes, quantum in processing, holographic in storage, and a field, to boot. we all agree that everything that exists exists in a location. so therefore a location exists. therefore, a location must itself exist in a location, which - but i digress. the synchronicity should not be at all surprising, after all, sober, most of us tend to agree that a certain consensual halluciantion consisting of a collection of widely dispersed particles coalesces to represent, say, a red car. |

"A red car" is more of a cellectively agreed upon convienence to explain refractive indexes attributed to spatial sequencing of mass in primitive cultures. Other than that, I believe that what one calls "mind" is located in a portion of removable anatomical waste - in most humans. Hence the plummeting IQ after a visit to the commode.

"...in most humans." - Not all. I am, of course, suggesting that most people have learned to be full of it.

This reminds SWIM of a couple of books he has read about that may be of interest: DMT: the spirit molecule, Author: R Strassman ISBN: 0892819278
and Supernatural, Author: Hancock, Graham ISBN: 1932857400 SWIM believes both argue that DMT stimulates a gland in the brain, almost like allowing a sixth sense to perceive things that are all around us but we can't always see. But SWIM hasn't read either, so he can't say for certain that this is what they are about. |

i love that expression 'books he has read about'
read the books. Rick Strassman is the man and the book is a must have on the shelf. by 'the gland' you must refer to the pineal, the would-be outgrowth of the embryonic tongue, the organ thought responsible for endogenous DMT production / regulation. btw, the 'DMT Elves' have nothing to do with Tolkien' beasties or Hollywod depictions of same. |
