Explosion back?

It appears that explosion is being sold in the UK. two versions are availble: "original" and "trip". Though not directly stating it, it is implied that this is the same product that was available from holland. Has anyone purchased this product?

Sight unseen - I can guarantee it is not the original "Explosion", which was Methylone. There has been a few marketing games using this name to sell everything from caffeine to piperazines. Caveat Emptor.

Sight seen - I too can guarantee it is not the original "Explosion", which was Methylone. Most likely either a liquid piperazine blend (yuck!) or liquid sida cordifolia blend.

Let's just say it's a well-founded 'hunch.' I hope I'm wrong - but in any case this will likely prove to be another gimmick. I just don't like to see people get their hopes up, only to find their lab rats having a severe headache the next day and unable to get out of bed.

Umm, that sounds a little dodgy...
Maybe if somebody decides to make a purchase they could evaporate the liquid and use a reagent kit on it. anybody know how BZP etc react?

BZP/Marquis reaction, from Erowid:

"Benzylpiperazine - No color change, but it causes the reagent to fizz. Looks like when you pour hydrogen peroxide on a cut."

This thread on the law and order forum contains a discussion on the legality of methylone http://www.drugs-forum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=18592. I'm no chemist but someone pointed out that methylone was a beta ketone and not a phenethylamine so it wasn't covered by the current legislation??

A local shop that sells smart products in Birmingham (Zen) told me that explosion was taken out of the market while the law on methylone was researched and now it is back because it has been confirmed that methylone is legal. They told me they have a letter from the Home Office to confirm this, but they didn't show it to me. I guess they could be talking bull, but they've been a fairly reliable shop up until now.

If these shops keep selling it, expect the UK legal status of methylone to change in the near future.

Re: Explosion back?

It was tried out and had no methylone like effects, but rather piperazine like effects.

Re: Explosion back?

SWIM tried it and also agrees with Alfa that it was probably a mixture of piperazines, perhaps flipperazine and/or mcPP due to its trippy nature. It didn't have the euphoric, empatheogenic loved effects associated with methylone. SWIM enjoyed it very much but suffered terrible itching all over during the comedown (which was also marked), plus felt it was too expensive for what it was.

It's particularly a concern when no ingrediants are listed.

Why? Wasn't it a fairly pricey way to acquire methylone? In addition to who knows what other adulterants?

There are places that sell it as the actual substance/research chemical, although I can't give away any sources to a forum newcomer (sorry 'bout that). Not sure SWIM would want to mess around with a product marketed as a 'room odoriser' -- likely with great lengths taken to make it appear the product is not for human consumption.

This product is clearly marketed as a trippy stimulant, not labled room odouriser.

It has already been discussed that the "new explosion" does not contain Methylone.
