Just wondering what some of these would be, and where and when they take place. Only one that comes to mind right now is burning man, which is in no way promoted as a drug centric event, but to my understanding, they have a rather obvious presence. This usually (if not always) happens in the Nevada desert, during the week leading up to labour day.)
I just realized that my spelling of labour will not be read as a mistake by many users here, because they would also use the British way. lol, don't mind me... So if you can share your knowledge here, I would be happy. Thanks Last edited by ~lostgurl~; 18-08-2007 at 07:27. Reason: prefix |

swim's birthday usually ranks up there.
actually aside from that, swim can't really say. he's never been to a large drug-related festival. he's only indulged at non-drug-oriented festivals. try checking the d-f calendar, theres usually alot of events there! |

In Ann Arbor michigan there is the annual Hash Bash which swim thinks is usually in early April. When swim went years ago there was just massive amounts of mj everywhere and it seemed some what tolerated by the cops.

A favorite event? Burningman. A week or more. Anarchy, art, music, fire, open desert, crazy vehicles, costumes, the Palenque Norte conference in the Entheon Village tents... wonderful, blissful.

DEMF. Detroit Electronic Music Festival. it's held every memorial day weekend in may. 3 days of the best d.j.'s in the world. just about every type of person imaginable shows up to this event so even if ur not into drugs swim would suggest going to it just to people watch. the drugs are just a bonus in swim's opinion.

![]() In all seriousness, TC and his wife are heads (mayors) of a large group that has been attending since 96. While TC would love to jump into an inebriated state feet first each morning, his job of maintaining the village infrastructure the first half of the week is really demanding, and TC is indeed sober most days... Until Thursday. Then he shuts down and gets his groove on; all the RV's, camps, and generator and power grid are in place and running, the bikeways have been established and are open, the fire art is up and running, the shower is working and the villagers know to take away as much gray water as they are contributing into the evaporation pool. TC looks forward to the latter part of burn week. He's been on site for at least a week already laying out the village, so he's ready to trip the light fantastic. The ~150+ artists that camp in TC's village have also been working, some 24/7 for weeks in advance. Their installations are huge, demanding, and don't leave much opportunity for "checking out". Until Thursday for them as well. |

Re: Biggest Drug Related Events/Festivals/Conventions
Hi:Fi Ireland. SWIM's still hung over from the wide array of illegal substances consumed. So many stories, none of which he's going to bother recounting at the moment. Security was nice and blind too.
Anyone (Irish) ever go to Electric Picnic? What's that like? It's on this year but I'm not mad about the line-up so I'm undecided. It still seems a better organised festival though. Hi:Fi was kind of thrown together. |
