Dangers of importing illegal trypts to the UK
SWIM and a couple of his friends are considering buying some 5-meo-amt, 5-meo-mipt and 5-meo-dmt. They have found a site that is willing to ship to the UK. SWIM has been asked to use his card and pay through western union. Whilst as far as SWIM knows 5-meo-amt is still currently legal in the UK due to the alpa methyl group the others are not. Is there much risk for SWIM in importing these RCs?

That would be a BIG, FAT - YES! Countrymen of yours have been arrested for this.

Any "supplier" who would ship an illegal chemical is not to be trusted. Ever. End of story.

Yes SWIM recalls hearing about that actually and is reconsidering his choice of RCs he is now thinking of getting 4g 5-meo-amt and 1g of either 4-aco-dipt, 4-aco-mipt or 4-aco-det. Judging by this: http://www.erowid.org/psychoactives/...e_phen_4.shtml
All 4 of those appear to be legal under UK law. Is SWIM right in thinking this? If so which would be best out of the mipt, det or dipt AcO trypt?

All 4-substituted tryptamines are illegal AFAIK. It has been argued that methylone AMT and the FLY/DFLY compounds are legal at the moment but this is not totally clear.

5meo DMT is legal by vitue of the alpha methyl being classed as an "other sustituent"
All esters of ring hydroxy tryptamines without an alpha methyl group such as Aco DMT/DIPT and all ethers such as 5MeO DMT are illegal class A go straight to jail do not pass go the relevant bit is:
any compound (not being a compound for the time being specified in sub- paragraph (a) above) structurally derived from tryptamine or from a ring- hydroxy tryptamine by substitution at the nitrogen atom of the sidechain with one or more alkyl substituents but no other substituent;
Para 3 Any ester or ether of a substance for the time being specified in paragraph 1 or 2 above not being a substance for the time being specified in Part II of this Schedule

the UK law is logical and easy to understand, if it isn't specifically listed or covered by the catch all clauses its legal.
