quite frankly, some of these documents are pretty scary. we never want to believe that our governments are up to no good, and that they could have the audacity to dose and torture unwilling subjects, but if they can justify it by saying its to fight the communists, or terrorists, or the enemy "ists" of tomorrow, they'll probably get away with it. what also shocked me was that canada was to an extent involved in the experiments, at least according to wikipedia.

some of it just seems too bizarre to be true. reminds swim of a lab rat friend he has, who's father was an honest-to-god psychic spy for the military during the cold war. i guess you have to hand it to the government for at least keeping an open mind as to how to wage war, even when the results are at best, bizarre, and at worst, horrifying and unconscienable.
